Would’ve been a great one to steal! Good effort, don’t dwell on this one and get ready for the next one. 16-4 and 6-3 is incredible!

We missed some opportunities to win this game. North Carolina made a lot of 3 point shots, which kept us from pulling away and gaining separation, which we were never able to do. We were flat in overtime ,I think as a result of North Carolina's depth. Izoje was the best player on the floor today! Her game is expanding and she is a tough tough player to contain. We needed Phelia to score more than 6 points to come away with a win. If you follow this team, we only have 4 scoring threats, burrows, Darius, Izoje, Phelia, and to beat better teams, all four need to be on their game. The defense is solid, but IMO, we will need the emergence of a scoring threat off the bench. Our subs are defenders and rebounders, but not scorers. What ever happened to Maddie Potts? If she is such a shooter from 3, why is she not getting to put up a couple of 3's per game? I guess it has to do with her percentage this year...but we need someone to step up! Let's Go Orange...

Couple thought
SU again gets no calls or bad calls anytime we go into North Carolina.
Thought Coach Jack should have called a timeout with 27 seconds left in the game to set up a play. I know she did not want them to set their D but sometimes need to get all players on the same page.
I like Schmidt as a player but it’s clear she is told to not try to score which makes it a 4 on 5 situation.
Still forcing too many passes that are resulting in turnovers.
Team is a really good and can go on a run but still need to clean up some things.

Uche not only played great offensively but defensively she did excellent. UNC’s 6’4” player, Ciera Toomey, UNC’s high scorer who was shooting at a 58% clip, scored only 6 points, 3 from the free throw line and only 1 three point basket out of her 6 attempts and ended up fouling out. We outscored UNC from the paint by 10 points. The game unfortunately was won/lost from the perimeter on 3 point shooting. We scored only 9 points from the 3 point line while UNC scored 27 points on 3 pointers. Excellent effort, we had more steals, less turnovers than UNC - our 3 point shooting let us down, we are inconsistent game to game from there. Need to work on our perimeter defense and our own perimeter offense. Keep our heads up and our intensity for our next challenge - Ga Tech on Thursday. LGO!

Perimeter shooting has been a problem for this team the entire year. We played well...but you can't trade 2's for 3's with a great shooting 3 point team. Where is Maddie Potts? Schmidt was a great 3 point shooter in HS. I thought she would be good in college as well...

I think giving some minutes to Potts would be good but only if she is allowed to shoot when open. Team wants to go through Uche and the bigs for most of the scoring. Great idea but sometimes forcing it down low is resulting in turnovers.

Uche is the only big that can score down low. The other two bigs are not really scoring options in the post at this point. Really good rebounders, but not very good scorers. We need another 3 point option off the bench because when Uche is out of the game, we become a perimeter team and both DD and Phelia like to penetrate and get to the mid range...that just leaves Sophie Buckets on the perimeter... I just wonder..why not more of Potts.

Overall, I really like this team. We have a few blemishes ...but we are a team that could go far in March.

IMO, we need more NIL for this program…​

Without that, it’s very difficult for us to compete in the ACC!

FLJ is an outstanding HC who can recruit the type of players we need!​
