you mean we may have wasted weeks and 1,000's of posts here stressing and making threats for nothing?
Let’s call it the scenic route…

Damn it! All that unproductive hours reading these threads at workyou mean we may have wasted weeks and 1,000's of posts here stressing and making threats for nothing?
You just like to see us squirm.Yeah that’s why I was saying last week or so everyone was getting bent out of shape for nothing
ha. that's a great way to put it.Let’s call it the scenic route…
I had said here, never put a down payment on worry. If things work out you would have worried for nothing. If they don't, you can always worry then.you mean we may have wasted weeks and 1,000's of posts here stressing and making threats for nothing?
It's not unproductive if it keeps us distracted from the current state of the basketball program.Damn it! Although unproductive hours reading these threads at work
No. It's just spin. People in business and in life, say things they don't mean all the time. He doesn't want to be seen as the guy that sank her.I am unclear on something. I never worked in a big company, so excuse my ignorance. If JE is retiring, and he really detests HL, as indicated by some folks here, why would he issue such a statement. If he said no, would they tell him he has to retire earlier?
I have a hard time believing this but it seems that we are heading towards doing everything right in our three job searches.
FIFY!Today's column by Axe lays out [what’s been said on Syracusefan].

Yes, these were posts in the past. I was poking around to see what public opinion was of her in the past. Was that before she was fired?
Maybe JW didn't write it. Or authorize it.I am unclear on something. I never worked in a big company, so excuse my ignorance. If and when we get the presumptive favorite from down south as our new BB coach, I am very curious as to who else was considered, who else we reached out to, and how hard of a press the admin put on. Be it Schertz, established high major guys, etc, it will indicate how big of a priority the program truly is.I have a hard time believing this but it seems that we are heading towards doing everything right in our three job searches.
After the last 20 years of hires and not directly privy to the discussions, it's no surprise we assume the worst.Yeah that’s why I was saying last week or so everyone was getting bent out of shape for nothing
If it gets her out of Syracuse and back to Michigan with Kent, then JW would publically say that she's the greatest thing since sliced bread.I am unclear on something. I never worked in a big company, so excuse my ignorance. If JE is retiring, and he really detests HL, as indicated by some folks here, why would he issue such a statement. Do you think we're locked in on Hodg or also looking into other guys like Schertz?Yeah that’s why I was saying last week or so everyone was getting bent out of shape for nothing
Or maybe he's got post-retirement payments coming from SU that are contingent on him playing nice.Maybe JW didn't write it. Or authorize it.
I saw some of these posts too and it certainly contradicts the vibe here that she was the worst AD ever. It was a mixed bag for her at PittYes, these were posts in the past. I was poking around to see what public opinion was of her in the past.
3 years ago:
"Pitt needs to do everything in their power to keep her""Heather Lyke was the university’s best athletic hire in half a century. No one has had the impact she has. We should be lucky to have it.""Louis Riddick said something at the Kickoff Luncheon about some good news in the future (paraphrasing) for the team. I hope it’s a contract extension for Heather Lyke."This was after she was fired
"What a mistake to let her go. I don’t know her but from the outside looking it she seemed to have done a great job with Pitt Athletics"After her contract extension in 2016:
"It says a lot about her that most fans are really happy with this news. She's done really well.""Pitt fans how do you feel about this?""Stoked. She's killed it, especially the last few months.""I'm ecstatic. ... Combined with all these moves she's made in only 13 months and rumors that Michigan State wanted to poach her, I think this was really prudent move by our administration.""Very happy. She has a great attitude and a lot of ambition.""This is great. Since she arrived, the football program has finally been willing to pay for good assistants, and the basketball program did a 180 in it's coaching situation. Firing our women's basketball coach, who was pretty popular locally, showed that reputation alone isn't an excuse for failure, and that all of our teams are expected to win. I love everything she has done so far."
Damage control from the top and toeing the line.No. It's just spin. People in business and in life, say things they don't mean all the time. He doesn't want to be seen as the guy that sank her.
Nick sounds like a done deal so the school nailed the first two, fingers crossed on Hodgson! So it's looking like
Haynie - Chancellor (Done)
Carparelli - AD (leaning)
Hodgson - HC(?)
Pitt did well in some ways during her time as their AD.I poked around on the subreddits for Pitt and in the past, there was a lot of positive posts for Lyke. *shrug*
Already said how I would bet…Do you think we're locked in on Hodg or also looking into other guys like Schertz?
That would be a nice trifecta. So it's looking like
Haynie - Chancellor (Done)
Carparelli - AD (leaning)
Hodgson - HC(?)
