...it was about 40 degrees in the dome today. The cheap bastards didn't bother to turn the heat on. I thought the whole point of having the dome in the first place was so that we didn't have to brave the elements?

Sometimes its just embarrassing being a fan of this university.

Seriously? it was fine inside.

Thats not the reason people are not going to games though..

Good for you for going and rooting this team on.

That said, MAN THE HELL UP. You literally just asked for the operators to "turn up the heat." At a football game. COME ON, MAN!

Good. If you're not going to take advantage of playing in a dome (air assault, great kickers, etc), at least make it like the weather is outside and pretend it's Fall football.

If you go to Maui for Christmas...get a tan. Don't complain it doesn't "feel like Christmas "

Is there really "heat" in the dome? I figured it was cold inside because it was very cold outside and not enough people showed up to "warm" it up. From what I saw many people were under dressed assuming that the dome would be the same temperature today as it's been when it's 50 degrees out. It was the first time I've had my coat on inside all season but it was also the first game with below freezing temperatures with wind and snow. Personally all it did was make me appreciate even more not playing outside in the true elements and having a dome.

Yeah there is. That's how they melt the snow on the teflon roof after a big storm.

I had to take my jacket and hoodie off because I was too warm.

I guess you've never been to a March lacrosse game.

It was fine.

They have that silly "You won a Upgrade on your Seat" contest every home game. Christ, they could have given everyone in the place an Upgrade today! (And throw in a woolen FB blanket for this poster, to boot!).

Folks around me were putting their coats and gloves on.

Was definitely colder than normal

There's definitely heat, it's never cold for basketball games.

Jesus Christ, you've got to be kidding me. Stand outside for 3 hours and tailgate, the dome was pretty damn warm when I got in there.

The Dome's roof is held up at least partially by warm air so there is heat in the Dome. I'd imagine they try to figure out how much heat the crowd will give off and then adjust the "thermostat" accordingly. With that being said I have been to quite a few SU games with smaller crowds and high school football games and been cold.

Football and lacrosse are always cold. Today was ridiculously colder than normal.
Early season it's sweltering. Late season is freezing.

However, go to a basketball game... In a t shirt... And absolutely Sweat bullets.

I have shivered on a Saturday for football, and sweat on Sunday for basketball.
Makes no sense.

Concrete can be cold when there is no one around to sit on it. Maybe SS asked them to keep the doors open so his kids wouldn't get cramps due to the heat? We had a skeleton crew out there on the field and every little bit helps.

the heat for the roof is between the layers to melt the snow. the rest of the heat is just to keep the roof elevated. it was cold but better than an outdoor game.
