Uh I hate to be this guy, but you really should be encouraging people to attend the game since it’s a home game that isn’t sold out

The team needs our support IN the dome

Pack the Dome!

C'mon, Colby...do better. Encourage folks to pack the dome, then they head to your place afterwards. Last game of the year for Coach Fran's inaugural season! The kids & coaching staff deserve for the fans to pack the Dome. This is a big game for them, and for us fans. Let's show the support, THEY deserve!

Lol you people are out of your minds. It’s a local business who does plenty of work with the team/NIL. Meiers isn’t stealing fans who were going to go to the game until they saw these posts.

I hate to break it to you guys but not everyone is going to the Dome Saturday. Some will go to bars. I know.. the horror!

We're so happy to see everyone on here is just as passionate about SU as we are! We're big fans of SU Football here at Meier's Creek and always want to share opportunities to meet the athletes and watch them take down their opponents each week! We AGREE and want to PACK THE DOME! That's why we, along with Feldmeier Equipment and SU Football NIL, donated 200 game tickets and food vouchers to Syracuse School District students for the UConn game. And we're doing it again this weekend with even more tickets for students to watch the Orange on their home field! Cheers to packing the Dome, watching from home, or cheering our team on from the bar - no matter how you watch, as long as we're cheering on THE ORANGE! Go Cuse!

Thanks for all you guys do for SU athletics and local students. It is greatly appreciated.

If I ever start drinking, I will stop by your place and do damage!

I was going to bus all my friends and family to the Dome on Saturday but I think I'll bring them to meiers creek instead

I couldn’t be more thankful for the contributions Meier’s Creek makes to SU Athletics. Their involvement with SU Football NIL, major donation to SU Athletics, and helping to provide the opportunity for young fans that otherwise would not be able to attend to experience game day in the Dome is a primary reason we are experiencing one of the best football years in the last quarter century. I doubt Coach Fran or John Wildhack would have any issue with the posts here.
Now I may change my mind when you introduce me to one person who was thinking “I guess I'll have to go to the Dome today because I can't watch the game at home on tv and there are no sports bars in Syracuse where I could watch? Oh wait! Meier's Creek has a tv! I'll go there instead!"

Could they say "If you're not going to the Dome come here?" or reduce the amount they contribute to run buses and give discounts to fans who come in with their tickets post game? Sure but you're tilting at windmills here if you think a post on syracusefan has any effect on game attendance.

People should be encouraged to attend the game.

I’m sure that the players would much rather have the people in the stands rather than at Meier’s creek.

Spin it anyway you want but you’re dead wrong here.

I’m sure that Coach Fran would have a problem with people going to Meiers Creek instead of the Dome. Especially for this massive game against Miami.

As I’ve said over and over again, it’s in poor taste to advertise an event DURING the game.

Advertise for after the game or before the game and encourage people to stop by the taproom to pick up beer for their tailgate.

The issue lies here because it’s specifically DURING the game.

Again, a sold out game, different story. But we’re talking about a team that’s won a lot of games this year, with a reduced dome capacity and we still aren’t selling out. They need every bit of help they can get.

Tickets sold to the game help out the university cover the cost of the scholarships etc. The athletic department needs tickets to be sold.

I understand that it’s probably slim that their post is actually effecting anything but it’s the optics.

People spoke out about it last week and that should have been the end of it. To come back and post AGAIN for this week is in very poor taste.

Find one person who says “I was going to go to the game but I saw a post on syracusefan so I will go to a bar instead” Then you can say I’m wrong. Hundreds of thousands in NIL money and hundreds of free tickets to the game greatly offset that even if you do find that one imaginary person.

In the meantime I will be thankful that due to the actions of meierscreek and others like them we are enjoying an 8-3 season led by the best qb in the country and a dynamic young coach instead of slogging through another mediocre season and winless November hoping to get a sixth win while watching a team decimated by injuries being led by a cast off qb from another program where he couldn’t crack the depth chart.

And the poor taste is being critical of a business that has supported the program i exemplary fashion every step of the way. And you are dead wrong if you think that’s appropriate!

I’m torn about all of this, and some of this has to do with the student section use….

On one aspect is the local community supporting each other. Honestly, I’m a beer guy, so I know Meier’s as some great beer, and I know how much they support SU.

I thought about it a bit, and while we all have some common goals such as SU FANs and attendance, I feel this is just exploiting free ticket use from students and SU filling stands from their commercial relationship and doing nothing more than all of us would do themselves.

While I may agree about having an SU Student section. It is a toss-up for me with the current use as I do not like that student sections today that displaced season ticket holders. It has doubled in a visual capacity and has been mostly empty the last 3 games. This is on SU on that, but Meiers probably needs a pass on that part too now that I have thought about it, All can go forward and probably do better.

But, In all, this is why we have conversations… To express our frustrations and resolve some of our own concerns.

Syracuse is heading to sunny San Diego to take on Washington State, and we’re bringing the game-day energy right here to Meier’s Creek Inner Harbor! Friday, December 27th | Kickoff at 8 PM Grab a DART Pilsner to support SU Football NIL or sip on Coach Fran's Shirley Temple – the perfect non-alcoholic nod to our favorite head coach. Gather your crew, wear your Orange, and let’s cheer Syracuse on to victory! See you at Meier’s Creek Inner Harbor!
