Beyond SU being a great school and a fun place to spend 4-5 years,h ere is what we offer the next head coach. Note than many of these were NOT in place for the hires of G.Rob/Gerg, Marrone or Scott Shafer:

The Atlantic Coast Conference
  • Power 5 – Access to bowls and CFB Playoff
  • Often less rigorous path to success than job in SEC or the B1G
Strong Leadership
  • Chancellor (Kent), AD (Coyle)
  • Both are in the early stages of their tenures in Syracuse
  • Both have visions of making Syracuse University great and national again
The Carrier Dome is about to be redone.
  • Last time it was new, after a short bit of lag time, we won consistently for 15-20 years.
Indoor Practice Facility
  • Shows commitment
Eastern Football is down and in a prone position. Easier to rise.
  • All are down right now with perhaps the exception of Pitt, who I don’t expect to win 9-10 games every year.
  • Programs down: BC (biblically bad offense), Maryland (good season will be 4th place in B1G East), Penn State (in a lull, Franklin stinks and won’t be the head coach for much longer there), Rutgers (no HC, the worst AD ever, serious $$$ deficit, plight in B1G East), UConn (HC is a dork, little talent, AAC), West Virginia (the B12 move was necessary, but they hate it, Holgerson wants to leave).

Great points about the rest of the east. Its there for the taking if we can do this the right way.
