SU Future Scheduling

This is exactly it, Yankee stadium is easy to get to from the city Met Life Stadium (when the giants/jets aren't playing) is difficult to get to from the city, Met life stadium does not run all the same transportation options that they do for the NFL and it makes it a problem.

Yankee Stadium isn't built for football. Lousy sight lines and terrible tailgating.

We need to start playing Army and Navy home and away.

Too many big schools are scheduling a CYA type of schedule and making sure they can put their schools in the best chance situation to win. I can deal with a 1-1-1 but that still gives the other school the advantage 2 out of 3 times.

First, if what you say is true, then again, Melife or not, these teams won't play in the dome if they just want to CYA. If they agree to a 1-1-1 I am really not sure why they have an advantage 2 of 3 times. Sure, Penn. State had a great turnout but it's closer to Metlife than Syracuse is. Most big-time schools (especially those you note) are not. Being closer is not just about fans but also about the players. This is just my take on and I know that many don't agree. It remains to be seen. If SU has won the last 2 games at Metlife, I bet some might change their minds...including fans who might be more willing to travel to Metlife.

What if we did it and started out 1-0 every year?

would only appease me by about 50%. its a slap in the face to season ticket holders to take our best home game each year and move it to NYC. Sorry you dont see that, but its truth.

Take Notre Dame for example next year... home game and we probably come very close to selling it out. As it is, we will be 20% of the crowd in NYC for the game.

If SU is winning 8+ games a year that would help with the Metlife draw but my thinking it's a 2 for 3 is that schools that are huge have fans that will travel. NYC is much better or make it more attractive to the traveling fan. I just see a 1-1-1 if it's PSU or a team in the area.

As a season ticket holder it's not the "truth" for me. It's just the way you view it v. the way I do. I am fine with the difference. When they play ND in 2014 at Metlife I will be there. And when they play them again in 2016 I can easily go to that game too because it is not in South Bend.

PS: I'd much rather go watch SU play ND at Metlife than Wagner in the dome.

One other note....maybe not alot of you can probably remember this, but this game was huge for the Dome and the program after over a decade of mediocre terrible football being played at Syracuse in the 70's and early 80's.

That game brought people out to the games and gave us recognition and a huge recruiting upgrade. It virtually almost brought us our 2nd NC a few years later. The mid 80's to the new Millenium all leads back to that one day on a Septemebr Saturday afternoon in 1984. That is when the Dome became known as the loud house...it boosted our BB program as well, as the Dome became a feared place to come and play.
