It has to be said, because it's true.

Connecticut lost to UCF. Louisville was in close games against sh@t teams, and finally lost to the first good team, Georgetown, they faced. Pitt has looked like a bubble team so far. Marquette lost to LSU.

We shouldn't lose to a single Big East team this season. If we do it's our own fault.

eh, we are the best team in the b.e. but i wouldn't say head and shoulders. uconn, lville, gtown and marq will have something to say about it. we won't go undefeated but 2-3 loses would be great.

btw, hope you didn't jinx usf.

I think it is way to early for this.

Not only that, but this attitude leads to irrational meltdowns when Cuse has a bad game and loses.

Usf Looks solid. Playing Uconn Tough in the first half.

This is college basketball, not college football. Great teams lose games in the regular season - it's just how it works. 3 Big East losses or less would be a fantastic year that would put us in position for a 1 seed.

I'm not saying we aren't going to lose. I'm saying we shouldn't lose. If we lose its because of something our team did or didn't do.

way too early to be proclaiming stuff like this. talk to me in february.

UConn lost to UCF, they are playing USF.

The games against Louisville, Marquette and UCONN will tell us how good we really are. I think our depth will just wear down the other teams though. Its nice to have our players full throttle when they're out there, love the intensity of this team.

We haven't seen the press yet either consistently. I'd love to see vs. UConn who only really plays 3 guards

damn. missed that because you used ucf instead of cfu. :) still, its too early to say we are head and shoulders above everyone.

University of Central lorida, not Central Florida U.

i know that. it's an old joke going back to the aol board days that you had to be there with our friend futbol guru. some here will remember. thus the smilie also.

We are going to lose games. At first I was thinking 8. Then I was thinking 6. Now I'm thinking 4...

It's clear we can win without having our best offensive game. Right now, the only way I could really see us losing is if a team gets crazy hot from 3 (like UNLV did tonight) or a team that knows how to beat the zone just cuts it up (like Louisville; but even then we still have a shot).

We haven't had a high scoring affair yet, and I think we can win a game like that, so it'll be interesting to see what happens if our D struggles in a game or 2 how our offense reacts.

If we stay healthy and remain focused as the NBA scouts start paying more attention in February/March, I'll be shocked if we lose more than 2 games in the BE regular season - @UConn and @L'ville.

Any other losses, as OrangeCrush22 has already stated will be on us.

Cheers,
Neil

UConn really is not that good. If you look at their results, they haven't beaten anybody (if you say Harvard you need a clue), and have been way too close for comfort with a number of teams. Same for Pitt.

Things can change, but I'm with the original poster. I have seen all the Big East teams play, and I can say we are the best team. Whether we are head and shoulders is another story, but we are absolutely the best team and I don't think there's any team out there that could make an argument to be in the discussion.

Easy chief, What. We have to beat LVille first, UCONN is good, very good. One game means nothing. This team is great, I firmly believe that but we will lose games, LVille should scare the out of people as long as Pitino is coaching, I don't care if they roll Bees out at the 2 spot, Lville will be very tough to beat for us. Pitino attacks the zone better than any coach out there

We are the best team right now. UConn has a ton of talent and by March they have the potential to be scary good.

This isn't college football. The beauty of basketball is that teams are actually rewarded for improvement over the season. Still, Syracuse can get SO much better. MCW has improved so much already. Look at Fab, as his skills and confidence keep growing who knows how much better he will in March? Rakeem seems more.confident as he gets more minutes as well.

This team is definitely playing with confidence right now, that's a big help. Should be interesting to see what happens when they lose. I agree with the OP insomuch as I am not seeing a beatable team right now on the court. Seton Hall definitely was not equipped to beat us this year but just one off night for us combined with an "on" night for another team and that's a loss for us. Scary that we haven't seen that off night just yet (although Bucknell or Stanford might count in that category.)

I think we are both the best team in the conference right now (head and shoulders I don't know, but I would say there isn't much argument we are the best) and that we'll lose BE games this year.

The schedule does set us up nicely to have a really great record though. If you look at our 9 conference road games, we play maybe only 2 against NCAA tournament teams. (Lville and Uconn). Cincy will probably end up in, so make it 3.

Something i just noticed; Pomeroy now says we are have a 60% chance or better to win each of the remaining games in the season. (Obviously not a 60% chance of running the table). As of right now, he thinks we'll be favored in every game. Uconn is 24 in his rankings, and Lville 19. The odds of us winning every game seems pretty small (he has 4%), but that's pretty impressive. The only games below 75% win probability are Uconn and Lville. Projecting a 15-3 BE record, which works for me.

It's human nature to hedge and our society, in general, frowns upon ego or to a lesser extent confidence. It's the defeatist mentality in most people.

To hell with that, we are going undefeated. I agree with the OP, we are head and shoulders better than any BE team at the moment. Barring a couple of injuries, it would take a freakish 3-point shooting night from our opponent to beat us, and that doesn't happen very often.

I don't know. We're the #1 team in the country. If there's a team to believe you should beat everyone, isn't this it?:noidea:
