SU@ND 2025 Oct

So last time I went there was an SU bus from Chicago. Do they not do things like that anymore?

I see for $180 person there is open bar private bus but need 50 people.

There's one you can just buy ticket for without needing a group, with various pricing levels depending on drinks or not and tailgate after:
I have not personally used this but do know folks that have and said it's legit.

I plan on joining that if SU does not have one. There has to be 50 people I would think that can get a bus going.

I emailed the SU Chicago Alumni and have not heard back. Not a surprise seeing that all of their socials haven't posted in a year. Kinda crazy that a big city isn't active.

What I have found with Cuse alumni groups is only a few of them actually can plan a sports event. It isn't usually on the group leadership as the general membership cannot commit months out for a sports event.

The Alumni Office in Syracuse usually puts their energy and support into one away game for Football. The Notre Dame game does have something going on it appears.

Cuse Community - Syracuse vs. Notre Dame Football Pre-Game Alumni Gathering https://share.google/0Dwdj5pJ9E6uafJ60

I have found that non-alumni are usually welcome to attend game watches, pre game events, etc...

Staying walking distance to campus, probably not going to have a car. Anyone tailgating that wants to welcome 6 Cuse fans on foot? We will show up with lots of drinks!!!

Bump

Anyone with definitive plans yet?

Getting into Chicago Friday night and believe we’re taking South Shore Rail to game Saturday morning. Riding Back to Chicago with friends after game then Bears/Steelers Sunday for us.

Haven't seen anything. We are staying a couple minutes from stadium. Sitting in Section 16 row 56

Pull the fire alarm around 3am
True story. Back in 92, Syracuse was at BC. I was 22. A couple of my friends and I went out to Boston for the game and stayed with friends who just graduated from BC. Somehow, they found out where SU was staying, and one of the BC guys called the team hotel at 230 in the morning and got connected to Marvin Graves' room by saying he was Marvin's dad and had to talk to him. When Marvin got on the phone the BC guys just lambasted him.

He called again a few minutes later and Marvin's roomie answered the phone and let the guy have it. On the third call the phone was off the hook. It was pretty funny. And it didn't work. Syracuse won 27 to 10.

I'm excited to see a Notre Dame game day. Hope we show up just a little bit.

We're going to try to hit the Knights of Columbus in campus before the game to get a steak sandwich. I've heard it's really good and a nice pregame tradition. It's no TexanMark tailgate, but it'll do.
