SU opens -15.5 over Pitt...

Out of all of our players, we need to win this one for Paul Harris.

He's still remembered by many as the guy who lost that unlose-able game in 2008, even though -- per Boeheim -- Donte shouldn't have that entry pass and the real blame lies with the Karl Hess gang that failed to call the mugging that forced the steal (while Pitt's coaching staff was instructing its players to foul).

And Harris was one of two guys (along with Ricky) who got nailed with BS technicals to open up a close game when they beat us down there three years ago tonight (Higgins filled in admirably for Hess). After the game he called them dirty and said we'd take the rematch in New York. Didn't get the chance.

This is a different Pitt team than recent years. We will win by twenty. Most of the money on Pitt is based on people betting with the history of this series versus the current make up of the rosters...

OK Sports Fans ... SU holding steady at -13 so the money has slowed considerably on Pitt

That isnt always true. There are plenty of times you see 90% on 1 side and the line never changes.

Vegas gambles too.

This is correct.

Not to mention, Joe Public's $50 wager has no impact on the line. Joe Professional's big $ wager does however.

Of course none of these facts stop "I know how Vegas works" guy from giving the erroneous "equal $" speech on every message board ever. :noidea:

HAHAHAHAHA!! So awesome and so true.

Pitt is really really bad. Anyone that says otherwise has not watched them play. Can they win the game? Sure but it would be like Seton Hall beating us in the Dome. I can assure you one thing, none of these guys on this roster give two s**ts about mental hurdles.

Pretty sure Vegas doesn't care one way or the other, it's the betting public that either doesn't think Baylor is legit or doesn't think they can win at Kansas.

Vegas often has an inherent "rooting interest" in a particular game. Usually heavy one way or the other.

Why people ascribe a certain level of "intelligence" to gamblers is always funny to me. when in essence the very decision to gamble shows a relative lack of intelligence (you always start behind the house).

I used to gamble against the house alot. Lots of dumb times...

Arg, tough example there since SH beat us by 473 points last year in the dome...

Well, Jeremy Hazell isn't walking through that door in a Pitt uniform. Actually, Hazell didn't even need to walk through the door because his range was clear out to Skytop....but Hazell isn't even in Skytop, so we should be fine.

690 this aint your "stone cold lock of the night"? disappointing.

Hell no. But I am 2-0 in my 5 star SUPERLOCK picks in the last 6 months. I've got another one coming soon (read: NFC). Stay tuned...
