SU planning pay cuts and stopping all capital projects besides the dome roof...

Glad we have good people like JB and Dino.

Hope we don’t go too far. Let college kids be locked inside their dorms and classrooms and not terrorized inside their parents houses. Please use common sense for the young folks who aren’t gonna die.

easier to take a cut if there are no games to coach i suppose..
I know it may not be their only school job/function (like college coaches), but high school coaches are not getting paid extra stipend for spring sports. They even started the season with practices. Right or wrong...just throwing it out there as part of discussion. Some coaches stay involved with there kids despite the COVID-19 break...others do not.

Unfortunately, those young kids have to interact with professors, food staff, clerks, etc. who can easily die from the virus.

Students should be head coaches change my mind.

Coaches shouldnt be paid that much anyways. A couple hundred thousand and put the rest of the money into the student athletes and school
Then, you would have lousy coaches. Lousy coaches mean bad teams. Bad teams mean losses year after year. Those losses mean less and less revenue. Less revenue means fewer scholarships can be paid for by the Athletic Department. Fewer scholarships mean inferior players and teams. All of which will result in losses of teams. Bad teams means a lessening of the "SU Brand". A lesser brand means fewer students. Fewer students means less revenue for the school. Less revenue means less employees.
Besides, if schools couldn't afford it, they wouldn't pay it.

So capping coach pay across collegiate level leads to lousy coaches?

Boise State furloughing most of their coaches for 10 days

I work at a college with a team of about 10 professionals. The lost income of Boise State’s football coach for the 10 days as referenced in the article is more than the annual pay for 60% of the people with which I work...and they all have graduate degrees.

Puts it in perspective...thanks

It leads to anti-trust lawsuits, and all colleges would lose. See Oklahoma vs NCAA 468 U.S. 85 (1984). The mandatory treble damages and attorneys' fees to the winning coaches would be huge. That would bankrupt college sports
