Colleges don't want to end up paying more in court settlements.

Teams actually got paid out quickly this year, which is the craziest part. Giving away $6M+ is definently not a profitable business model lol

Most MTEs break even but giving away $6M+ just for teams to participate is a high cost.

The Players Era Festival website says, "The Players Era Festival is a week-long celebration of college basketball, taking place Thanksgiving week in Las Vegas". Nothing more specific than that.
