SU projected to play in the Pinstripe Bowl

In an unrelated story, the Pinstripe Bowl is on schedule to sell a lot of beer.

Nebraska in a BCS bowl... the same Nebraska that just had 63 hung on them.

Well who else will represent the B1G ... PSU/OSU can't ... Wisky stinks and the rest of conference is a mess ... heck NW could even do it ... its wide open ... not sure what to think of MSU and Mich ...

If we can make it to the Pinstripe bowl, I'll be very happy. Any bowl for that matter actually.

i guess rutgirls didn't deliver last year

Oh no didn't you hear they will be squaring off against Alabama in the BCS title game and thus unavailable this season ... :rolling:

I wouldn't be so sure of the Rutgers/bama matchup. Bama might not be there south Carolina looks pretty good...

So it'll be RU vs USC? Good call :rolling:

Sorry if already posted.

EDIT: It's a Scccout site so I cannot link to it.

You can bet the people at the Pinstripe are praying for a Syracuse victory against Rutgers this weekend.

Have to believe Rutgers is headed to Belk/Continental Tire/Meineke Car Care Bowl as the 3rd best BE team, with UC and UL fighting it out for the last BCS bid the BE gets and the Russell Athletic/Champs Sports Bowl bid.

UConn is not going bowling this season. That leaves the Pinstripe folks hoping that Syracuse or Temple can make it to a bowl. If not, there is going to be a possible Donner Party situation in the South Bronx on December 29th.

I'm sorry but until we beat UConn they still have the edge on us. It's been too long in between wins vs them. I think we can do it but it has to be done on the field and not because they look like crap one week (well most weeks) as Pitt did as well at one time until they woke up from their slumber. Footballs hard and you never know when a team is going to operate on all cylinders.

True but I like our chances against UConn because we appear to be more stout upfront ... at least more stout than we have been for the past 5 seasons which is where UConn will try to make their hay ... a power run game.

Agreed and that wildhusky thing they did last year was quite stoppable if we had the beef in front...I think we will do better against that this year if Deleon goes to that.

Yeah, I'm not sure how anyone is projecting us in a bowl game right now. If we win Saturday, sure, but a loss puts us at 2-4 and still having to face the two best teams in the BE in Louisville and Cincy.

id say this week is a Bowl game.

chances are Syracuse wont beat lville & cincy.

and id have to to assume mizzou is a L.

so if we go on faith that the Orange can beat storz, nsewfu and temple then the only way they can go bowling is to beat rutgers.

This goes against common logic, I know, but I think we have a tougher test/venue awaiting us this weekend than we do against Louisville. Or Mizzou for that matter. Not saying either of those will be easy wins by any stretch, but I think this weekend's win will be harder to come by. So I'm not giving up all bowl hope if we lose Saturday. Some, but not all.

I wouldn't write off Lville or Missouri. The Missouri game will be the last game in a long year for them. Lville is not a power team. That could be a shoot out.

Cinci is the best team remaining on the schedule.

Nothing has changed from the beginning of the year. There is not an automatic L left on the board...nor an automatic W

If we lose to Rutgers, there is plenty of room for redemption, especially if we can get back to 4-4 after the Uconn and USF games. Me personally, I'm looking to win 2 of the next 3, beat temple, and steal one against UL, Mizzou, or Cincy.

Agree with this. I understand Mizzou has some serious talent, yada yada, but they haven't really looked all that great this year. Be it their QB is still a bit dinged up, the SEC expectations have gotten them unraveled a little bit, or maybe they just aren't quite as solid as we're making them out to be. I see that Mizzou game as winnable, for sure. Ville has some great athletes, and SU always seems to falter against them, so I'm not too optimistic about a strong performance there. I'd say Cincy and Ville are probably up there in the #1 spot, just because they've looked like they're just going through the motions, taking care of business. Nothing really sticks out in any direction with those two, meanwhile RU has a scheduling limp noodle. Who knows, though. SU gets on a roll and anything can happen, right?

It's the last Mizzou home game, but not last game overall. Big sandwich game for them. Their last 4 are @Florida, @Tennessee, SU, @aTm. Their QB has been banged up too. Won't be back for a few weeks and who's to say he stays healthy when he does get back with that gauntlet. This week's visit from Bama should be fun for them.

They are 0-3 in SEC conference play after losing to Vandy last week. If they don't beat Kentucky on 10/27, they are almost surely going to go 0-8 in conference play.

There is a very good chance they will be 3-7 when they play Syracuse, eliminated from bowl consideration, destroyed physically and mentally from their first year in the SEC. They are doing a black out for the Syracuse game. It could be a very dark day for them indeed.
