I'll start thinking about our bowl prospects after the next 2 games.
A lot of posters have poo-pooed any bowl except a BCS berth, but nobody can convince me that our recent 2 Pinstripe Ws have been anything but a positive for the players, coaches, fans and program. Mostly, I just don't want to see the season end on Nov. 30th.

He has SU in and Pitt, BC and Wake all out. I assume he thinks those are the wins to get us to a bowl. I hope he is right. I was shocked to see anyone putting us into a bowl after the Tech game, especially since we were left off by everyone after the NC State win. The extra practices you get when you go to a bowl are very helpful, on top of it being good for the players, fans, good for recruiting etc. We have to beat Wake or we are done.

It is not about who has a better team, it is about which team has better fans that are willing to travel. Wisconsin fans have always traveled well, which would likely get them the nod over teams with a better record. Clemson and the ACC would have a legitimate complaint if Clemson wins out and Wisconsin gets an at-large bid instead of them.

Wisconsin went to the Rose Bowl last year as an 8-4 team so it's not infeasible (OSU in-eligible). However, Wisconsin lost the tie-breaker with Ohio State this year so unless OSU drops 2, Wisconsin can't make it back to the championship game.

That being said, if Wisconsin wins out (still have BYU at home), a 10-2 Badgers team is an attractive at-large option for the other BCS bowls - especially since fans are probably getting tired of going to Pasadena for 3 straight years. After going the first 2 times, that's why I didn't go last year - bowl/travel fatigue.

But they'd need a lot of help. Fresno State (#17) is already ranked ahead of them and can steal an at large spot if they get into the top 16 AND ahead of a BCS AQ. Right now, it looks like the Big East Champ (UCF, L'Ville, Houston?) would be ranked worse than Fresno State.

Even if the SEC and Big 12 teams eliminate each other, Wisc still has a good hill to climb to get to the BCS top 14 (currently #23)
