SU - USC Game Highly Rated

can you see my mouth agape in a look of shock. Well we've got that going for us....

I also always like to point out that TV viewership numbers are reported at the per-minute level. So 4.7 million people watched in the average minute. Typically the audience of a college football game "turns over" 3x per telecast (meaning the average viewer watches about one-third of the game). So back-of-the-napkin math suggests there were 14 million people who watched all or part of the game.

Not bad.

I think the fact the game started late afternoon and dragged into the evening helped. It also helped that SU was still in the game at halftime and early in the fourth quarter. It caught some attention. There really weren't many good games last weekend as well.

And this is why Metlife, SU and ABC/ESPN will continue to have this game. It's not about fannies in the seats, it's about eyes on the channel.

Exactly. This is a substantial boost for the SU program. The nation watched SU hold its ground against USC. Now everyone is on notice that we are on our way back.

how does that compare to rutgers zenith - the game they always hang their hat on with LVille?

When less people attend, more people watch on TV.

Don't blame me. It's science.

That's just because the Syracusans who went down to the game left their TVs on up here.

Yup, the 4 million CNYer's that are busting down the revolving doors each home game were all watching this game at home. Luckily this weeks game is home and the dome will be full again.

Rutgers instructs them to turn on Cable boxes and go to the game, but we instruct people to stay home to boost ratings...brilliant move by TGD

Rutgirls fans left their TV's on.
