Women's Lacrosse SU vs Clemson (8-9): Sat Mar 1, 12 PM

No. 12 Clemson at No. 5 Syracuse, noon Saturday
After a big Top 5 midweek matchup that saw Northwestern take down Syracuse in the Dome, the Orange look to bounce back with ACC opponent Clemson on Saturday.

Syracuse is on a two-game skid, although both losses came to the No. 2 and 3 ranked programs in North Carolina and the Wildcats.

The Orange have been working through some growing pains early in the season as a mix of veterans and newcomers find their flow, with graduate student Emma Ward leading the charge finding pace in both goals and assists. New starter Daniella Guyette has produced double-digit saves against some of the nation’s most potent offenses, sitting 14th nationally in save percentage (.527).

Clemson, led offensively by Kayla Macleod and Lexi Edmonds, is 4-0 after a big win over No. 11 Notre Dame last time out.

The win serves as the highest-ranked win in program history for the Tigers, sure to boost their confidence as they tackle another ranked opponent in Syracuse. Clemson is shooting almost 60 percent from the free position which could be troublesome for Syracuse as they are giving up on average five FPS per game.

Another area to watch closely in this game will be the draw circle, where the Orange have struggled to find consistency and the Tigers’ Kira Balis is the definition of consistency, averaging 10.25 draws per game

Draws 1-9.

We better find an answer.

Molly Guzik replaced Meghan Rode on the last 2 draw controls of the half.

As a program, we are regressing and Clemson is rising fast. I know many don’t want to hear that but it’s true.
