SU vs Louisville: Sun Feb 8, 12 PM

Louisville coach, who is not my favorite, seemed to have a lot of words for Felicia. I am guessing that he told her that the comeback was very good, and they are better than the final score. But what Dr. Bill said is correct. I commented very early in the thread about Louisville's crisp passing, and also the sets they ran. They were just a well run team. And big. Although our pip squeek , Schmitt, did her usual toughness against them in the 2Q.

After that first quarter. Great effort to get back in the game! Major credit to Louisville, the biggest difference today is that they made big shots when they needed too when it looked like Syracuse was knocking on the door of taking control of the game. You only have so many runs in you before you get gassed and Louisville responded each and every time to those runs. They remained really composed and there players made some very high IQ decisions when it mattered most. I definitely can see the team has improved from the Michigan game, still ways to go. Proud of them!

this team is really not that far off, the 2nd and 3rd quarters showed it, if FLJ gets the support she asks for, the sky's the limit
100%. Syracuse can be a giant in the sport with the right support financially and in general.

Team got punched in the mouth and fought back with a lot of heart. Got it down to 5 twice but ran out of gas and too many really bad turnovers. And Louisville is good.

Noted that Louisville had 13 staff members on the bench. Wow.

Nice to see Switzer’s Boston Marathon number hoisted into the dome renters. Switzer gave a nice speak and cheered on the Orange but also razzed SU for waiting 59 years to recognize her achievement.

3 starters can't go 7 for 30 and win against a good team. Hopefully they get more money, for more depth for next year. With a bit more size.

There was support today. They did fight hard to get back in it. But in the end, in the biggest and most hyped game of the year……..they lost by 19. Not good. I’ll complete my negative post by asking this question….. Is Sophie Burrow more help or hindrance for this team this year. I thought she had a terrible game today.

Sophie Burrows helps this team. She opens up a lot for the offense even when she is not scoring because she is the type of 3 point shooter that if she makes 1 it usually turns into 4 or 5. She just couldn’t get going today. I did see she had 1 three.

She’s been streaky this year and had a very very slow start shooting wise this year. She’s usually a decent rebounder but yesterday she even had a bad game rebounding. She had shoulder surgery after last season and really hasn’t regained her shooting touch consistently this year.

The standing after a while puts added pressure on the players. They are aware of it, and it forces them to make shots they should not be taking. Yes. End it, please!!!!
Stand and clap till the OTHER team scores.

I love Sophie Bucket's game. Yes, she hasn't regained her shooting touch, but she usually plays a very all around solid game. Her problem is she can't create her own shot. When teams deny her the 3 ball, her offense is limited. Also, she has been the third or 4th option her entire career at the Cuse. Now, when we need her to be more of a scorer, she doesn't seen to have that killer instinct and ability to score at two levels(3 ball and mid range) . The offensive scoring depth is very limited on this team and in order for us to beat a top, elite team, we need all 5 of our starters to play their best games and we have not seen that yet.

We have no scoring depth coming off the bench! Recruiting has been a serious problem, especially loosing out on so many 6-0 - 6-2 wing players with 3 level scoring ability, that were right in our recruiting footprint

by support I mean NIL, she comes right out and says it, specifically she's appealing to the business community in central New York. She said on the radio postgame, "I can do this but I need help."
