Men's Soccer SU vs Va Tech (2-1): Wed Nov 5, 6 PM [ACCT 1st Rd]

I hate this but I think we were really lucky. I had that as a trip in the box. Oh, and someone explain to darko to 1, pass the ball forward late and 2, take the ball to the corner when we are trying to run the clock out.

Live it looked like a dive but obviously have not seen a replay and there was some “Yikes!” defense in that whole sequence. Yes, Darko and some others need to keep the ball and kill time.

Small but lively crowd. VT players are okay at soccer but appeared to focus more on acting like they were fouled and crying to the refs about imagined fouls.

Tim Brdaric, who plays sweeper, scored both goals for Syracuse and made a bunch of good defensive plays. He was our player of the game, at least in my opinion. Good to see a senior ending at his home soccer career in style.

I guess there’s still a chance Syracuse could host an NCAA tournament game, but at this point, it would be great just to make the tournament. Next game is against NC State in Raleigh. That will be a very difficult game to win, but if they can find a way to do it, I suspect they will be in the tournament.

Winner, lose, this team had a remarkable turnaround in the second half of the season. I’m proud of the kids and really enjoyed watching them grow as a team.

I can't ever remember a team improving the way this team did this year. Right now, I believe they are a top 25 team. And this team lost to the Dukes. And tied New Haven

Looks like California got the 2 pm time slot. Must be they plan on having the same announcing crew do the California and Stanford games. It is the only thing that makes sense.

Agree with the above. This team improved greatly over the course of the season helped in parts with some mid-season additions coming off the injured list. Based on current form they should make the tourney but the struggles early may trip up an invite
