There were only two months since 2008 better in yards per play than Sep 2014 (6.11 good for 37th if for the whole 2014 year)

Sep 2010, when they played Akron, Maine, and Colgate (6.40 26th if for the whole 2014 year )

Nov 2012 when the offense peaked (6.28 33rd if for the whole 2014 year)

If Lester gets a pass because of all the injuries, why are we abandoning an offense that worked moving the ball? I get needing to unload McDonald because of his playcalling and lousy interviews. But why throw the baby out with the bathwater? There are other coaches who can run this a 4 wide offense

People love to compare SU to SU. Well?

I think this has now become a state of new york issue.. look at the giants/bills/jets they all suck at offense too.

It's like politicians and crime. The only politically viable identity is to make the case that you're tough on crime. Problem is, tough on crime policies don't work.

Scheme wise, our offense was going in the right direction, it just wasn't great executing it yet, and I also think that Estime's injury and the injuries to our guards to start the year really hurt. We pulled the plug, Lester's the new Sheriff in town, what's that mean? Well, simplify the playbook, and focus on controlling the line of scrimmage with power running. Hand him the keys with an offseason, what's the identity supposed to be on offense?

It's going to be "multiple" and #hardnosed.

I continue to believe, with absolutely no knowledge, that there has to be more to the story of Shafer demoting McDonald.

Isn't that the time period that you were screaming about bubble screens and predetermined throws?

It was also against Nova, CMU and the two lowest ranked defenses we played after that, Maryland (97th) and ND (71st).

And by the way, the baby couldn't score or stay on the field, which was the real issue all year.

So much for overscheduling

I think McDonald is terrible. Despite his terribleness and all those stupid wasted plays, it's still better than most months of Marrone.

With a terrible offensive coordinator and a QB who can't hit the broad side of the barn they were still able to move the ball because they simply got fat guys the hell out of the way for once

but we're all done with that

All you have to know is the redzone circus against Lville.

Total panic city.

That's why.

Who cares what happened under Marrone. One was building from scratch and the other wasn't.

Unless you acknowledge the context for the comparison, it's immaterial.

Marrone was handed a burned out Pinto.

Macdonald was given a 5 yr old midsized sedan.

i'm glad mcdonald got demoted

this isn't about mcdonald. it's about the type of offense.

mcdonald's ineptness just hammers home the point more - in spite of him being terrible, they could still move the ball. so let's get rid of the bad part (mcdonald) and not get rid of the good parts (spread to run)

Interesting.

I didn't get to watch the Louisville game.

Honestly, I didn't watch much the past 2 months.

A man can only endure so much.

It wasn't much worse that two short side options called back to back.

Thinking more about this... so because McF$%it call bad plays and the offense was disorganized... that's why we need to change the scheme?

Honest question.

NOTHING is worse than running a toss to your bruiser RB from 5 yards deep in the endzone against the top ranked defense in the country after they have brought multiple guys into the box.

In the running for worst play call in the history of football.

Millhouse - I want your job.

Give me the details - I need more free time!

Two reverse passes within three plays after having the ball at the 1 is worse than two options.

Please.

The double reverse pass resulted in a drop TD pass. While it may be ridiculous the play worked and would have been a TD if Ben Lewis didn't drop the pass same could not be said about the two straight options to the short side of the field. Maybe he should have brought in a couple of defensive ends to run the ball instead

It's all right there in cfbstats. I'm not doing anything there

McDonald froze in the booth after the 1st reverse. Lester stepped in and called the 2nd, and apparently called the rest of the game.

Fact or rumor?
