I was told by someone reliable. They wouldn't just make it up. Then if you look how things went down it makes sense.

It does make sense, and it's a shame, because reading between the lines, it sounds like the scheme was overall pretty good, but McD wasn't nimble enough with the real-time decisions and play calling to use the offense to its full potential.

I think he might have worked out if he had been able to get a handle on the stress & pressure of game day. If you can't call plays (literally, not figuratively) then you can't be OC, plain and simple. It's not like he got a raw deal. If he really likes working with the rest of the staff then I hope he swallows his pride and sticks around for a bit.
