Tottenville uses a wildcat offense, and standout receiver Alvin Cornelius completed a floating pass that Austin Moccia hauled in for a 13-yard touchdown that gave the Pirates a 7-0 lead with 8:48 left in the second quarter.
With 3:12 left in the second quarter, Cornelius kept the ball for a 7-yard touchdown run to increase Tottenville’s lead to 14-0.
NYDN
Tottenville received an outstanding effort from senior Alvin Cornelius, who not only rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown, but led the Pirates in receiving yards (38) and threw the only touchdown pass of the game. Junior running back Augustus Edwards had a game-high 125 rushing yards.
As it did during its 14-13 regular-season loss to Erasmus on Oct. 2, the Pirates struck first, taking a 7-0 lead on Cornelius’ 13-yard TD strike to Austen Moccia and Bifalco’s extra point with 8:49 left in the half.
One series later, Edwards’ 51-yard run keyed a six-play, 84-yard drive that ended with Cornelius’ 7-yard TD run out of the Wildcat formation.

Recruiting
Erasmus quarterback Wayne Morgan, who had to leave the game briefly because of cramps, was stunned as he watched Lewin score the touchdown that put him in the title game for the first time.
“This is the best feeling I’ve ever felt in my entire life. A bunch of guys, freshmen and sophomores, all stepped up,” Morgan said. “That run was amazing.”
But Erasmus didn’t wilt in front of a large Tottenville crowd. The Dutchmen answered with Jackson’s 11-yard touchdown run with 1:26 left in the half, and pulled to within six when Morgan scored the two-point conversion on a run.
In the fourth, after recovering from cramps, Morgan broke off a 40-yard run that set up his own game-tying 1-yard sneak that tied the score at 14-14 5:56 left.
NYDN
Quarterback Wayne Morgan’s two-point conversion made it 14-8 and the score stayed that way until Morgan tied it on a 1-yard QB fake with 5:56 left in regulation.
The Pirates denied the Dutchmen the lead when defensive back James Munson and Coughlin stopped Morgan short of the goal line on the two-point try.
