I don't know Bad Bunny from Good Bunny, and I'll watch the show, but if its anything like the last few years, I won't understand what they are singing (whether it's in English or Spanish-doesn't matter). Then people will come out and say how great it was. And, the NFL will say great we brought more eyes to the game, and the real football fans will say, let's get to the 2nd half.

If you look throught this list of performers, I will say ever since Jay Z/Roc Nation started producing the show is when the tilt started towards attracting a much diverse audience, much to many real fan's chagrin. However, I will say I really liked Shakira.

I have always believed that it should be regionally decided. For instance, San Francisco: METALLICA
Boston: AEROSMITH New Jersey: Springsteen or Bon Jovi etc. you get the idea.

What shocks me as a rock/metal guy, is that all the halftimes is crappy pop/rap, yet every commercial break during an nfl game is rock or metal for bumper music. Why are they polar opposites?

The days of classic rock bands geared to predominantly white older folks is long gone. The last one was The Who in 2010. But, there were some pop groups since then like Coldplay and Maroon 5. Not the same, and we might not see that genre again.

The halftime show is not for football fans and that's ok.

It's when I gorge myself at the food table.

I almost never watch halftime shows. It's an over hyped, overrated event that draws way more discussion than it should.

If I'm at a party, halftime is when I go home and watch the 2nd half.

If I host a party, halftime is when I try to get other people to go home so I can watch the 2nd half.

Last night was neither thankfully, so I used the time to knock out nearly a full episode of Mad Men (current binge).

I would enjoy a few Roger Sterling one liners in this modern age. Would be hilarious.

There also aren't many groups anymore in general. Look at any year-end top 100 singles list since 2015 or so and 95% of them are either solo artists or collaborations between solo artists with a few K-Pop groups thrown in.
