Super Bowl LX Thread...

Maye was dame good in the preseason but hes been awful in the playoffs

The 15 flags the NFL thew on the Bills in the first Buffalo/Patriots game was a catastrophic commercial mistake

hope the NFL suffers a little bit for it.

Kind of rooting for the trifecta of Super Bowl special teams records - throw in most successful onside recoveries?

There he goes again. It's like having Bo Jackson in Tecmo bowl. Tackle for a loss? Nope, not again, gain of two or more!

Pats got beyond lucky. The first two games they played a team with no oline and a QB who looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there. Then they get a backup qb who hasnt played in 2 years and then got a blizzard as soon as they got a lead. Maye looked bad pretty much every game and now that NE can't get a special teams TD or Stidham randomly fumbling they cant score
Joke spot on that QB sneak also.

Collinsworth had a good observation about how MVP Walker adopted his unique "hesitation" running style, that SU fans can relate to. He pointed out that the first 2 years of Walker's college career were spent at Wake Forest, which employs the unique "Slow Mesh" offense. This unusual RPO variation (which slows down the decision making in the backfield) should be painfully familiar to SU football fans.

It was.

And I hated it.

NE defense is really playing well. Just not quite as good as the Seattle defense.

MVP of the game so far is a tie - Kenneth Walker and the Seattle DC (no idea what his name is).
Mike Macdonald. :)

Which Vrabel would later use as ammo to whine about, amazingly.
Shawn Hocculi really making an impact.

Our "freeze option" was built on a similar premise. Give time for the linemen to engage, so the RB can better see where the hole is.

Not sure on that matt. The freeze part Was mostly to draw in defenders on a play where they think it’s a fb run or option run with either the qb or hb, if not then it’s a “freeze” play with qb drops back for a downfield pass after presenting an option look.

The fullback part of the option was a quick hitter type play, and the option the qb had was to hit it himself when opportunity presents, and if not pitch to the hb.

As my posts back then suggested, That’s exactly what I thought we should have done this year and go back to the future old school when Angeli went down.

Yes, I agree that the fullback dive part of the play was a quick hitter, but the QB froze, quickly scanned the field - it could turn into a drop back pass, like you said, or the option toward the end.
