Surprise: Gator Bowl may not be the Choice for #2 behind Orange Bowl

According to Brett McMurphy of ESPN and our source, it looks like the "The Russell Athletic Bowl played in Orlando is the leading candidate to get the ACC's second team in the league's new bowl lineup beginning in 2014 (or it could be the ACC's third team if two go to the BCS).

This was not expected to be the case as the Gator and Music Bowl seemed to have percolated to the top of the list...and at present the Gator and Music bowls will split 3X each for an ACC and B1G team... there maybe something else that is going on that has not bubbled up for consumption.

Word is the ACC will announce its future bowls within the next few weeks or earlier. Expect some comments coming out of the Spring meeting by Thursday.
