We have to be excited about the possibility of adding another legitimate dimension to this team. Keep working and getting better James!

I'll get excited when he does it against a good opponent--Friday would be a nice start...but he is trying hard.

Teams that play zone, or those that reside in New York state or the directional Midwest and face us as double-digit underdogs ought to be very very afraid of James SOUTHERLAND.

Amen. Show me you can do it against a big time team and I will jump on the bandwagon.

I dont think it matters to him his shot is so pure.. he jus squares up and release.. in other words if hes shooting like that, you cant stop that.

Classic point in the second half one of the guards passed back to him beyond NBA range. The camera didn't even refocus position to see him. Before you know it you see a basketball flying into the screen from way beyond NBA range and swishing in.

One of the coolest things ever.

This year? I think its more of his minutes.. I dont recall him going. 0-4 or 1-4
Yea basically it seemed like in both MSG games they put him in, drew up a play for him and when he missed the shot, they took him out.

He has trouble against man D, especially teams that body him. Can't create a shot off the dribble, not very strong, doesn't rebound well, indifferent on D.

More to the game than shooting an open 3.

If you give this guy some time to work himself into the game, he will be fine. He is a momentum player. Doesnt seem to have natural confidence. Once he sees his shot go through the hoop, he becomes a different player in all aspects of the game, offense, defense. In NYC, he basically did not get enough of an opportunity to shoot himself into the game. I can guarantee you if he was given a couple more shots and hit one, you would have seen a different player.

he doesnt need to create off the dribble. the guy is 6'8 and can shoot over most people defending him

I say give him as many minutes as possible. He clearly has the ability to shoot and the athleticism to do so much more. Pulling him after missing a shot does nothing to help him work through his greatest liability... lack of confidence. Two of his shots tonight were just SICK they were beyond NBA and then some and were nothing but twine. His defense on the inbounds pass is pretty much like a force field with those long arms waving and him jumping up and down and laterally like a madman. EMU was forced to take a time out tonite and James created 3 TO on the inbounds play last game when he scored 9 points in 18 seconds. He is a unique player in many ways and if utilized in the right capacity he is a TREMENDOUS (empahsis ala Boeheim) asset to the team.

- he does have more difficulty vs man D
- so james has the best points per 40 min on the team (materially the best )by hitting open 3's only?
- wes johnson couldn't create off the dribble either
- james has better reb's per 40 min than KJ so far this yr
- james has 2nd best stl's per 40 min on team...you honestly think he looks indifferent as point man on the press?

I seem to remember him having a nice outing on the road against GTown last year.

Indifferent is probably the wrong word as to his D. Inconsistent is better. He has to play D other than being the point man on the press.
As to the other stats, wake me when they're against quality opposition.
