As of today, Syracuse and A&M are the only two schools to have two alumni currently serving as head coaches in the NFL.
For a smallish university in a region that outsiders laugh at for its weather and economy, we really have an amazing tradition.
SU's All Americans and bowl wins and college and pro hall of famers are disproportionate. Many bigger schools with more money and closer to recruiting goldmines would kill for our history.
The fans of two of our former local conference opponents laugh that we live in the past because there's no place at the table for private schools not named Notre Dame or USC. Fortunately those two schools have complete idiots for fans.
Today is a shitty day because I think we are losing a great coach. But thanks to Doug, Syracuse will land on its feet. Doug going to the NFL just adds to Syracuse's outsized legacy.
