Syracuse basketball not ranked in top 10 of Lindy's Sports college basketball preview

meaningless. Basketball rankings mean nothing until March.

Totally agree. College football is one thing with the BCS, but hoops doesn't matter. We weren't in their top 10 last year and made it to The Final Four. Pre-season rankings are a fun thing to discuss, but I don't take them too seriously. We'll just hoist the trophy at the end of the 2013-2014 season and not worry about it.

Tough to argue with, given all we lost from last season.

But based upon what I saw in Canada, I think we legitimately belong in the top 10.

Our case would be stronger if Roberson gains his eligibility; I think he could be a factor right away.

Our zone is longer and possibly more athletic.

Rak is showing improvement.

Grant looks like an all american

Fair is a potential all american

We have 2 possible redshirts who'd start on 95% of the other top 25 teams.

Yet we've regressed out of the top ten. Oh well I like uphill battles.

Oh no! Lindy's didn't rank us in their top ten. Might as well cancel the season.

Very good preseason NFL magazine. Lindy...stay with what you know-don't make yourself look stupid.

we're an injury or foul trouble away from having a very weak backcourt.
That is the issue hanging over us...certainly more so than in other recent years.
Especially at the point.
May Tyler Ennis have a healthy and foul-free season.

Pretty much every team in College Basketball will struggle if their starting point guard goes down. Not sure why we always freak out like we're the only team in the nation that doesnt have a superstar backup pg. Our backcourt consists of Ennis, Cooney, Gbinje, Patterson and BJJ. Truth, we dont have a strictly pg only type behind Ennis but we have 2 combo guards in Gbinje and Patterson and more backcourt talent than almost anyone we will play all year.

You said " possible" three times in your post.

We will be better than last year at every position except for SG. We will have a better record. Hopefully we can have a slightly better tournament run too, but that's always tough to call. I'm pretty confident on the first two things though!
