Its hard to argue any specific units because we lost significant contributors on any that were good. Keep in mind that there are 17 teams in the ACC these days. We will be facing a murderers row of opponents that surely will not help the stats. In general its hard to fault their rankings, but I think our units will ultimately prove better than projections with Fran and company at the helm for another year.

Offense in general has to take a step back with the loss of McCord, but not sure how much with Angeli coming in. Should still be solid. I think we will be very good at WR but not a ton of proven talent or production for them to list why we should be top 10.

In general, I think the Defense should be at least as good as last year. Especially after so many pieces being in a familiar system now. They should be able to build on that. I think the DL unit makes a little jump as a collective experienced unit. Its pretty deep. Should have lots of young talent at DB and Fran and Joe Schaefer should be able to get them ready pretty quickly.

Many units will probably end up being just inside the top 10 at the end of the year.

Anyone else feeling a little shaky about Robinson? The scheme felt vanilla—just banking on guys to win 1-on-1s. It worked out, but we lost 4 or 5 guys who might get a cup of coffee in the league, and the guys stepping in couldn’t really crack the rotation a pretty mid defense. I try to get up with the roster turnover, but can’t say I’m an expert with the new guys. Talk me off a ledge!

Anyone else feeling a little shaky about Robinson?

No more or less than usual. I feel like last year had some rookie mistakes (bad prevent calls, failing to load the box in obvious run plays) and this year he’s not a rookie. Plus there was some serious athleticism off the bench. Those dudes had another year to learn also.

I’m not hoping for the world but I am looking forward to seeing where it goes.
