Syracuse Campus on Lockdown

I had a very good friend that use to live on Hope Ave,it's down by Brighten Ave and that is a lot more than a few blocks. I was a lot closure in August to a murder up there this summer as I was working at Syracuse Stage and a murder happened just right around the corner there, now that was a few blocks. Guys I was working with saw the guy lying on the ground right after it happened.

Correct its West of Salina St.

Sounds like some kind of drug bust gone wrong or something.

are searching for two people that it believes to be armed in the campus area. Campus is on lockdown. Got this from the DO.

The neighborhood is much safer than it once was, especially on the north edge of the campus. I was robbed at gunpoint in 1983 on North McBride Street. I went through the neighborhood around West Genesee Street about five years ago. It was much improved from where it was in the 80's.

No idea why they lifted the lockdown unless cops know more than they're saying. As some know my son is at SU. He was in Flint working on a project. They were told 4-5 suspects. What I don't get is that the police just admitted they lost the suspects and don't know where they are but were last seen near Oakwood. If they don't know where they are why lift the lockdown? As soon as it was lifted my kid hoofed it from Flint to DellPlain.

The shooting happened near hope but after a car chase by cops they ended up near Oakwood. Cops were shot at but not hit.

This happens 20 times a day in Chicago. sometimes more.

There were 14 shootings in 15 hours there the other day.

Yes indeed. I can't watch the local news out here without seeing some little kid getting caught in the middle of a drive by. Some parts of Chicago are beyond scary. Just glad everyone on campus is safe.

What is happening to our cities? I bet the shooter was a gang member with a rap sheet.

Most cities are safer than they've been in decades.
