Inside job gilardino. pitt has already been promised Buffalo and MSG. JB was hurt but understoodOhio State will get Buffalo, will syracuse or pitt get Buffalo? will syracuse or pitt get NYC?
Pitt?
Ohio State?
What are you basing that upon?
Don't fall into the same trap I do with Pitt . Usually this time of the year they are 14-1 and I am never impressed. They are still Pitt I say. But then they play us and they either beat us or scare the crap out of us.pitt will need a lot of help to beat us in buffalo.
and it starts (and would end) with beating us twice (maybe 3x).
they could be a 6 or 7 seed at 15-1 right now. they may as well be in the southern conference.
The Pitt game at home is very big. We have a harder Acc schedule than they do IMO. They get to play Duke, Va and FSU at home, we play all three on the road plus Duke at home. We have to hold court against them.
I'm talking about playing in the garden, not Pitt getting a number one seed. Pitt should finish in the very top of the league and the league won't be getting a lot of teams in the tourney, so it's important to at least split with Pitt. The committee won't have both of us play in the garden. If they sweep us and have the same or better league record than us they could grab that regional (conceivably). It's better to just beat their rears and leave no doubt.Pitt's biggest problem is that right now it doesn't look like anyone's ACC schedule is very high on the degree of difficulty chart and their OOC schedule generally sucked.
For Pitt to be in the East region it will require Syracuse falling on their face. Our non-conference resume was an A/A+, Pitt's non-conference resume was C+/B-. If we split with them in the ACC regular season and go 14-4 Pitt would probably have to go 16-2 AND win the ACC conference tournament to get ahead of Syracuse. Pitt isn't a threat to overtake us unless Syracuse falls on its face. Pitt's best non-conference wins are against Penn State, Stanford, Houston compare that to Villanova, Indiana, Minnesota, California, and Baylor. Pitt won't have many chances for big wins in the ACC as Duke/UNC are both down. Pitt doesn't play at Duke and if Syracuse splits with them then I can't see them passing us unless we go 12-6/13-5.I'm talking about playing in the garden, not Pitt getting a number one seed. Don't sugar coat it for him.Pitt is not fighting for a number one seed.
Don't sugar coat it for him.
