In a world where Dino signs his extension tomorrow (not happening) and he’s locked up for the foreseeable future... what do we reevaluate as our program’s upside?

What is a Syracuse football program with Dino Babers capable of?

Is this cause for a re-evaluation? Are unforseen heights attainable?

What do you see in 5 years? 10? What does this change.

Lets have fun with this and worry about other things later.

If the playoff got extended to 8 teams I think a playoff birth is realistic if we had another great year. 6 teams would be a lot harder. If they keep it only 4 teams I think it's going to be extremely hard to get a playoff birth.

Does Dino have a realistic chance to rewrite the preconceived notion that penn states the height of possible power in the northeast?

I genuinely think he could make us into a sustainable power, even after he retires.

We can be the Baylor of the ACC minus the disgusting baggage.
Team with spectacular offense and depending on the defense a conference champion.
If Dino gets this running I expect 5-6 wins atleast to 10-2 depending on the strength of the conference.
We would be a bowl team almost every year but never the consistent big dog.

I actually think the comp is the late stages version of WVU in the Big East (with Dick Rod). Constantly in the top 25, lurking in the top 10-15, once every 5 years sniffing top 5. Repeated new years day bowl games.

This is probably it OP since he's leaving for USC at the end of the season...
Not before one more crack at clemson at the dome!

Its always gonna be tough playing in a P5 division like ours. That said, with some Dino longevity SU can and will always be in the conversation for the division. His recruits and eye for qbs will keep us exciting. We are ranked #12 and its awesome to see. Sure, the top 25 might not be what it normally is and our schedule has for once, rolled in our favor week to week.

The tempo/RPO system in college isnt going anywhere as now rhe NFL has caught on the last 2-3 years and the NFL will keep learning. The game is changing just like the NBA did over the past 5-7 years. Rules have modified favoring the O in both leagues. Possessions in high #, spacing, and taking shots is emphasized. Thats the world we live in sports wise and ot isn't going anywhere.

Baylor became a national power before that whole covering up rape thing. No reason we can’t compete at that level or higher.

USC would be 1 of them schools that worry me, but it's going to take a lot to get him out of Syracuse imo

We can be as good as HCDB can recruit. If we can eventually start getting Top 25-35 classes I think we can compete for the ACC every few years.

I don't think he'll ever be able to get top 10 classes but a boy can dream!

But like he said today if you can get those guys that don't want to wait at big schools we're going to bring them in. Example we have two 4star guys set to come in and play at RB and WR next year, and we're in good shape to get a 4star top 100 OT from Michigan that was on their 2 deep at a freshman. Those players don't show up in recruiting rankings, but will be big pieces of our roster. Not to mention if we keep putting up seasons like this we will have no trouble recruiting. Watch how we finish this years class.

i hope Franklin leaves penn state in absolute turmoil. Flames only a rutgers dumpster fire and mountaineer couch burning could rival

I second this. Unless Babers can routinely out recruit schools like FSU and Louisville moving forward.
I know u have more life experience with this but I think we could be consistently wn the top 15.
