i disagree, i think when keita and christmas is in were gonna run screens all the time, like we did last year. And we did a okay job at staying out of foul trouble. When they set that screen were gonna see alot of wide open SG's like cooney and paterson. And that will also put fair and grant in a postion to score. Or ennis can drive and scoreIn cuses offense sometimes its better for the pg to have a good shot, we don't run as many comlex screen sets as others when you need a tough basket, and Ennis is our best(maybe only) isolation guard, and probably the second best isolation player on the team behind cj.
imo, it will depend on how Grant and Dajuan score posting up and one on one, as well as Ennis midrange pullup.
I agree with that, But Michigan also had a big guy scorer. As far as big guys, we dont have one that can score. And i mean the PF and C postion. Keita i think stepped up big time but he has bad hands, and Coleman and christmas couldnt keep up with the mitch kid. But what im hearing is that Hopkins is working with the big men this year.Fair enough, but the biggest reason we lost to michigan is because they shut down mcw and southerland only triche and fair stepped up and michigan did not have a good offensive second half on top of it. When the going gets tough in big games its good to find mismatches at more positions and if ennis can bring a scoring mismatch he should utilize it every oportunity he gets.
Those three are not a duo....I think Ennis is going to be amazing. At Madness he told trevor to get open, and when trevor did he nailed every shot. Ennis along with fair and conney is gonna be a deadly duo.
And/OR. sorryThose three are not a duo.
Yea, and i think thats what Mike wants to work on them. Coleman is and should be a beast. Instead of getting the ball and taking 5-6 dribbles he should just go up with it. Even if theres two guys on him, contact is going to be made 9/10 times. And with that new rule in effect coleman will win 10/10 times. Coleman has not impressed me so far but Fab did the same thing. His first year he played like 2 mins a game and the year after that he won the defensive poty and a first round draft pick.Depends on their ability to score you give a big the ball and they face up but can't drive by their man to score, then you are cutting their passing lanes. You throw them the ball back to the basket and they can't back their man down your just wasting the shot clock against good perimeter face guard defenders.
Point guards should never have a good shot? Are you high?Point guards should never have a "good shot". There are there to pass the ball. MCW wasnt a shooter, but he ran the court. I think Ennis is going to be amazing. At Madness he told trevor to get open, and when trevor did he nailed every shot. Ennis along with fair and conney is gonna be a deadly duo.
the article was only there to soften your brain up for the dialogue between Playoffs?! and orangefan13Also, my brain hurts after trying to read that "article." I'm guessing a four year old wrote it by stomping on a keyboard. So...much...poor...grammar...and spelling...
......what? Your first sentence makes me want to dehorn unicorns.Point guards should never have a "good shot". There are there to pass the ball. MCW wasnt a shooter, but he ran the court. I think Ennis is going to be amazing. At Madness he told trevor to get open, and when trevor did he nailed every shot. Ennis along with fair and conney is gonna be a deadly duo.

I for one am thankful you clarified that big guy means power forward or center. I thought you meant towel boy.I agree with that, But Michigan also had a big guy scorer. Bringing the ball to his waist made me Michael Vick puppies. And I love puppies.I don't think I EVER saw Coleman dribble 5-6 times in one possession last season. Coleman's problem last year, besides perhaps not being conditioned enough for the pace of the D1 game, was that he was lost when he was on defense and either getting stripped or blocked when he was on offense. He will never be the kind of shot blocker and defensive force that Fab was, so you're comparing apples and oranges there. Coleman's strength is on the offensive end. He just needs to learn not to put the ball on the floor when he's down there in traffic (which is why he was stripped all the time) and become more explosive instead of bunny hopping so he doesn't get stuffed when going up for a shot.
that confusion stems from the days when Bernie Fine worked with the big men and the towel boysI for one am thankful you clarified that big guy means power forward or center. I thought you meant towel boy.
The 3 thirty footers they hit beat us.Fair enough, but the biggest reason we lost to michigan is because they shut down mcw and southerland only triche and only fair stepped up. Michigan did not have a good offensive second half on top of it, or they could have won by a dozen.
When the going gets tough in big games its good to find mismatches at more positions. Now if we outplay our opponent at 3-4 positions already then we are ok, but on nights when we only have 1-2 its not unusual to turn to the pg.
