Is it just me or has it been awhile since the last legit D-1 prospect came out of the Syracuse area school district? In years past I would say on avg at least one 3-5 star player a year came out that SU fought for. (i.e. Lobdell, Rhodes, Jolonn Dunbar, etc).

Where have prospects of this caliber gone recently? I don't think Marrone has had a chance at any prospects from this area while he's been at the helm.

Paulus(s)

Barrett
Hart
Walker

There has been a dip in talent in section three the past couple of seasons. Looking to the future there does not seem to be much on the horizon either. The overall quality of play has improved, the number and level of stand-out individuals have diminished however. There are some solid looking younger kids that will play this fall that might change things ... lets see where things stand in October.

Ive watched a lot of HS football since I have been back in the Syracuse area (about 12 years now). Ive mostly seen the AA schools so I cant really comment on the smaller school guys too much. With the exception of Hart from your list, the best Ive seen was the Preaster kid out of Utica. I really thought that he would be a stud.

I also thought that Lepak would do well here. From what I saw on the HS level was that he was a better DT then Olinemen.

As for current Section 3 guys on the roster, I think Robinson will be a player for us sooner rather then later.

MacPherson?

Barrett?

Sales?

I'm not talking about Barrett or Macpherson as neither were highly rated.

Sales is a good example. But he was 5 yrs ago?

CNY use to produce 1-2 national recruits per year. It hasn't in a long time.

CNY is a lacrosse hotbed, not football. Mike Hart was the best player to come out of CNY in awhile (Dunbar and Branch, too).

Diamonds will pop up every once in awhile, but I like their current focus areas (NYC, PA, MI, GA, FL).
