Syracuse is Top 20

We are on the cusp. Be patient grasshoppers.
I've been saying this all day among the drunks that want to clean house. We are so close, I feel this team is going to start pulling upsets but man, it makes it so much harder to see them lose.

I think you're right.

Frustrating, though.

One year away (and I hate that sentiment, but throwing all of this young talent to the wolves is really going to pay off down the road).

It's more frustrating to be close than to outright suck.
so true. In the blow out games from the last two years there was no shot at a win. That's not the case this year, we've been in every game

Actually, I think it does. Beating the spread can be an indicator of trend - at least versus market perceptions. Certainly better than the opposite.

Feel like we did good against the spread in the past few years too. Just get wins, being so close sucks!

Teams that do well ATS tend to break out the year after. In 09 we were ridiculous ATS if I remember correctly.

And of course one of those 2 times we didn't cover the spread, I put money on us.

During the 4 quarters of regulation, Virginia was ahead in the game for 2:47 minutes of the second quarter. SU was ahead most of the rest of the game. Against Pitt, the Panthers were ahead for 5:06 minutes of the game. SU was ahead most of the rest of the way.

Pitt starts 15 juniors and seniors. UVA starts 18 juniors and seniors. SU starts 10. Which team would you rather have next year? Or perhaps even later this season as players improve? Yes, me too. Long term I'd rather have the Orange roster with a few key additions.

It means most of the betting public still thinks SU sucks. The sharps know SU is better than that.
