NR is a non conformance report. When an inspector finds an issue at a plant they write an NR. We then have to perform an immediate corrective action and then a long term preventative measure. We have two USDA inspectors assigned to our plant, one has been an inspector for 35 years and the other-a graduate from Iowa State and a huge fan- has been an inspector for 39 years. There isn't much they haven't seen and do a great job. We haven't ever had an issue with them but other plants have inspectors that are very nit picky and will get an NR over something as simple as a form being reviewed and not signed off yet, and the inspector gets mad because he can't look at it yet. Or one package of meat that fell on the floor under a conveyor and hadn't been seen yet by a housekeeper. Needless to say I didn't end up having to worry he would write one after the way the game turned out. He actually felt bad for me lol.Not knowing what an NR is, that sounds bad?
Career ending?
