He was the first Voice of the Orange for me. Very entertaining guy to listen to. I enjoyed his work greatly.

My favorite Joel memory was when SU went on the run to the Final Four in 1975. After one of the big NCAA wins, I believe it was UNC, he went crazy at the end of the game, urging SU fans to pull their cars to the side of the road and blow their horns.

What a character. Condolences to his friends and family...

back in the days of the Hal Cohen/Marty Headd "Cohen-Headd" backcourt there was a scramble for a loose ball.
People dove on the floor.
Joel's radio call was, "Off the noggin of Headd and out of bounds!"
I can still hear it.
