Syracuse vs USF in Boca Raton Bowl (Dec 21)

If the DelBoca Vista Bowl info is solid, I’m giving Wildhack even more credit today for getting SU to Florida and avoiding the current ACC chaos.
We won the day

We split ACC bowl money
We play a name program that is winnable
Players will be happy
Florida motel prices pre Christmas aren't super high
We should get pretty good fan support but 8pm kick isn't ideal for retirees.
We won't freeze

You can stay on the beach on Singer Island for $400 to $650 a night. Some places south of Palm Beach in the $500 range right on the ocean. Plenty of decent places on the other side of the intercoastal in the $150 to $225 range.

And of course for the high rollers there’s the Breakers and Four Seasons.

I've seen chain motels as cheap as about $100 but do your homework.

I think I’m locked in with year end stuff , but if I was going would definitely be Xmas on the beach.

To anyone who is down there and you need a Tully’s fix, Duffy’s is a clone.

Yep , for the budget fans looks like you can get a clean room for 100 , even less.

Fly to West Palm Beach, Ft Lauderdale, or Miami. FAU is on Glades Blvd. a 30,000 seat stadium. Plentiful parking. Head over to Royal Palm Plaza or Mizner Park for dinner.

I live 5 miles away from FAU stadium but heading to NY for Christmas!!! Worst luck of all. I will be watching from a hotel room.

Man I’m so excited for this bowl! Won’t be able to travel for this one but idc, this is the Super Bowl far as I’m concerned.

There will be many snacks to be had in the living room. USF looks very beatable.

A bunch of alums would’ve gone to Boston or Annapolis. Not going to Boca on 12/21.
I'd venture a guess that there are plenty of alums in southeast Florida.

Here is the rub

Many of the younger ones might be heading up north

Many of the 65+ crowd won't like the 8pm kickoff

Heck I'm not 65 and wished it was a 7pm kick

Ha Ha, I’m 62 and I’m ok with 8 pm for SU games , other stuff , not so much.

Only on Sunday and Thursday. Not Daily
Check Allegiant into St Pete, Sarasota, Punta Gorda and Fort Lauderdale

Lots of options. I'd ideally want to land 36 hrs before kickoff if flying Allegiant. I believe Frontier, American and Southwest will give some good options too.

Likely a go for me.

Did anyone figure out which side of the stadium we are on? Or still waiting on word from bowl/SU?

If you respond to the SU email that asks for "interest" in the bowl game, that doesn't obligate you to purchase right? I want to see if I can work out bringing the family down but don't know if we can make it work with our schedules.
