Also wanted to give everyone a heads up on a new feature/rule this year to help us navigate the African Cup of Nations.
In past years, we had plan for the African and Asian Cups on our own, by holding transfers, using the Wild Card chip, etc.
Only a couple weeks away, so thought it was good time to share.

Below is copy pasted from the Rules page:
"Managers will be given additional transfers to allow them to deal with player absence during this period.

Following the Gameweek 15 Deadline on Sat 6 Dec 13:30 and ahead of Gameweek 16 on Sat 13 Dec 13:30, Managers will be topped up to the maximum of 5 free transfers, regardless of how many transfers are available to them at that point.

These Free Transfers do not need to be used in Gameweek 16, they can be carried over between Gameweeks and used at any time."

Grateful Fred just had an outstanding 84 point haul in Week 15 to move into 3rd place.
That's a big week! Congratulations.
 
I can tell you one thing that I have done better this season - I pay much more attention to the defense.
And with scoring down by about half a goal a game compared to last year, that's why we are seeing so many more clean sheets this season.
 
Another important deadline to remember that will be coming up fast:
Use all of your first half of season "Chips" by the Game Week 19 deadline of Tuesday, December 30th, or you
lose them.

We get a full set to use for the second half of the season after that.

Literally had Rice queued up as my transfer this week… but he still had the minor injury tag & wasn’t predicted to start, so I backed out & went with Tarkowski on D instead🤦‍♂️. 17 points missed for 2 & that’s the life of FPL!😍

Me, too. But it gets worse - I left Thiago on the bench to play Calvert-Lewin, and all he does is get a hat trick for another 17 points.

I also had a 4 point defender on the bench, versus a couple guys who only got 1 or 2 points for me.
I could have had a great week. I hate when that happens.
 
Up to top 7 tenths of a percent (92,000 out of 12.8 million players).
I've found that another good strategy is to be patient when you have a good roster.
Don't knee jerk react to one bad game and sell somebody that's generally a high scorer at his position.
 
First time this season that I forgot to make my transfers/set my roster lineup before the gameweek hit... always gotta be aware of the Friday matchdays. The game between Aston VIlla & Wolves caught me off-guard. As did the final score!😮

I forget almost every week. Probably should have sat out this season with a new baby...

You've been storming up the table these last few weeks, all the way to third now. You have a very good team put together. We'll see if my 90 point lead over you can last for 9 more weeks.
 
Here we go !!! Home stretch is underway.

JDubbs has overtaken the pack to pull into 2nd place.

Last year's winner making his move on the winner from the year before (BEFORE we had a prize!).

I have an 85 point lead with 8 weeks to go.

Like a basketball game, you hope to have a certain margin, per minutes (or games) remaining.

In all seriousness we need to start getting the winner payment together for the end of the season. There’s more people in the league that don’t all post here. ROCcuse is there a way to directly group message to every team in an FPL mini-league? With more players this year, I think we could drop the payment to $10 per team entry

You used your free play for last week, when only 2 games were rescheduled.
I saved mine for Week 34, when 4 games could be postponed.

P.S. - If I hold on, I'm getting the new USMNT red and white jersey with Pulisic's name and number.
