Me reading Dasher, Richmond, Jake, & Bulldogs posts on the daily constantly entertained and impressed with the info they give us.
Good job guys.
I’m a BU alum. Committed to Maryland to play golf originally before my dad got sick and had to stay close to home. Picked Bu over Maryland, Tennessee, St. John’s and a few others and I was definitely disappointed we didn’t have football but basketball during my tenure was amazing - made the tourney with Tiki Mayben. But after I took an official to Tennessee, you realize what big time athletics really looks like so I was definitely a little bummed in comparison. However, had zero tuition and no way I was getting in if I didn’t golf. The way the school has continued to go up in rankings has been great to see. It’s crazy to me how much SU has gone down in rankings as well. But those 4 years at BU were the best 4 years ever for me. Loved every minuteI could be totally off base, but for NY residents, Binghamton (my alma mater for undergrad) has always been a solid school, and their image/rankings seem to be improving as well. Even called a “Public Ivy” about a year and half ago by Forbes.
For a lot of programs academically, I would guess Binghamton for the price tag is appealing. I did miss the sports experience that comes with having a good football and basketball team, but in hindsight, am very happy with the decision I made to go the more budget friendly route.
Both of the referenced people, I believe, are current university employees.
As usual, you are rightBoth of the referenced people, I believe, are current university employees.
Thank you. It is fairly easy to set me off these days. The world is kind of rude. As said above I'm thinking it was just opportune for the U and for him.I know. I believed you and I spoke to him myself and know you were right. My comment was to say that you knew what you were talking about.
Well this person is already being discussed and new chancellor isn’t in yet. So the timing will be interesting. The new chancellor does care a lot for athletics. And may be thinking this could be a good hire possibly ? But it would be catastrophic and dasher is 100 pct right about how bad it truly would be
The Michigan football coach? Is this some sort of insider trade thing?Oh, I would take JB a million times over the person we are talking about. Weitsman, probably him as well.
Me too. Six months after I retired I got a call asking me to take a senior level job in government. Worked for another 3 and a half years. No regrets.I retired this past spring at 57. 4 months in I get a call from my former boss asking if I’d consider “helping out” on a part time basis at more then double my previous salary. I guess my younger replacement was a disaster.
Sometimes it’s not us holding things up. If you get offered a sweet deal because they value experience over youth, you have to take it.
James Arthur BoeheimHeather Lyke? You don't have to answer, but my guess based on what you posted.
I miss him doing nothing for our athletics while sitting courtside with celebs like a sad hanger on as we lose to Duke by 40 pointsThe only thing that dude ever “boosted” was his online profile.
Why would you say he is a weird guy? I thought he did a tremendous job after Nancy. Certainly not completed, however losing AAU membership, research validity We have truly worked on this. I also felt in comparison to previous chancellors he was tremendously supportive of athletics as well student experience initiatives. I am very grateful for this gentleman. People can have a change of heart and honestly private institution to a massive conglomerate might be an easier transition for him. Maybe he just changed his mind and got an offer and they needed him. Obviously amazing for him CongratulationsHe told everyone he was retiring. Weird stuff. But he’s also a very weird guy. See ya buddy
I so agree with you, I will leave it at thatThis is an incredibly rude, and unnecessary comment. His plans could have changed. They were moving there for retirement. Maybe it was an opportunity he couldn't turn down. Maybe he plans to do it for just a short number of years. He may have felt an affinity for UMich as he has a couple of degrees from there.
It is unfortunate how nasty this board has become.
Just all depends on interactions right? And stuff you hear. I have all types of friends at the university so you hear a bunch, I’ve had some interactions with him, and again it’s all personal perspective. I also think he did some stuff behind the scenes that weren’t very forthcoming in my mind. But again, it’s all in the eye of the beholder and depends on who you askWhy would you say he is a weird guy? I thought he did a tremendous job after Nancy. I completely agree with your statement contrary to the previous gentleman for sure. Honestly that gentleman's posts have completely soured upon me, He comes off as a disgruntled, archaic mean spirited person with an agenda. We definitely did fall, however we have been working our way back. Current chancellor should have never caved to the state concerning medical school initiative with a veteran bend. also bring back the nursing school while continuing and expanding other research based curriculums and programs of study. CriticalAcademics haven’t fallen the way you think they have. They aren’t gaming towards ranking.

From my outsider perspective, seems like he didn’t really care to help sports so I never liked him for the role. Also comes off like a dork.Just all depends on interactions right? And stuff you hear. The AC's name was thrown out there a week or so ago by someone who knew. Both of the referenced people, I believe, are current university employees.
Giant dork is understatement. JW is easy to talk to. I didn’t find Kent to be that in any wayFrom my outsider perspective, seems like he didn’t really care to help sports so I never liked him for the role. Also comes off like a dork.
Well a broken clock is right twice a day. I got oneLyke is the name rumored for AD and she apparently has supporters at the university. But I’ll join the chorus and say I’m not one of them.
But can't say I am excited my guess was right either.
