Brick on facade
WiFi improvements
Improve concession options and technology
Upgrade Dome locker rooms and 'guts'
Add individual seat areas and remove sections of bench seating
Put an addition on Irving Ave side (lobby type fan zone)

In regards to the aforementioned addition to the Irving side...

I actually think that is a good idea, and have read in here plenty if great ideas from food, bar, new space for SU sports management school etc.

Way mucho options with that.

Very misleading title to that DO article. Where does Syverud really say anything about Carrier Dome renovations in his statement?

Okay, I guess I'm missing it but where does he specifically state that they're focused on renovating the dome? I don't see it in his statement but maybe I'm missing something

Exactly. That's just a poor headline by the D.O. I read his 3 paragraph statement. Makes no mention of those types of specifics.

He didn't. It was a poorly worded headline. He talked about the need for renovations and working with county/city/state to put something together and analyze the options. Whether that's a new building, or fixing up the old one somehow, there are no specifics.

thank you

and thank you.

What a GD circus and who the hell is working for the DO that they can headline the story like that without a specific quote to back up their statement?

Awful headline by the DO and the reporter who tweeted the exact same thing. Syverud did not limit his comments to renovations

And preceded it with "BREAKING:" Hate the new media world.

Expanding on Irving would be tough. If you look closely you see that's the area where loading docks are and areas for load-in entries (football equipment, concessions, etc). Can't take that away. Expansion would be extremely tough and problematic to do.

She's an idiot. She blew a great opportunity for the city at no cost.
On this I disagree Bees. Miner's a hard head but I can't blame her for putting on the brakes until the whole plan is vetted. However if this is just her being an obstructionist then I'll change my mind. So many stories have come out today that it's impossible to keep track of what's real and what's a smoke screen.

For out of towners

I asked my wife for the pronunciation of his name (she went to the same HS as the Chancellor but a few years behind)

His name is pronounced: Sev-er-Rude for those that didn't know.

I wish Miner would realize she is a mayor of a city of 140k...put your lil ego in check and work for the best of CNY. Put your demands in during the negotiating/discovery processes to help your city. A few more hotels, restaurants, business etc...will help pay for the cops. Try to get a % of the new facility as a taxable entity. This facility will be used a lot and will add a new vibrancy to a sh!thole section of the town just ripe for development...this crap would never happen down South.

Mark, surprised your supportive of the Kennedy Square site. From everything I've read and seen, there won't be much parking or tailgating there. I like that it's close to campus and will help clean up a blighted area, but those are about the only positives.

Very self centered and short sited by the angry Mayor. She should be ashamed of herself for the way she has handled this. From what i can tell she has lost a ton of support from some very key people., Expect her to back track within the next few days

I'm supportive of moving the process along...let's get the $200M earmarked and then massage the plan. I know the state...if the pols fumble this the money will go for something else and probably not in CNY.

Personally I like the Dome to get renovated but I just don't see it being practical from both an engineering and logistics POV. Kennedy Square (warts and all) is at least on the periphery of the campus. I think it could be worked and tailgating somewhat workable. I'm intrigued with the Inner Harbor area too...my feeling is get the money earmarked and work out the details.

Honestly I think this will work out best for Su. I have a feeling cuomo will figure out away to give su what they want and cut the city out of it. The crunch will end up getting screwed.
