One thing I think Fran is kind of leaning into in recruiting, that I think would be good for the brand to lean into explicitly with the media is an Us vs. Them, Northeast vs. Southeast mindset. Getting these kids who grew up in the Northeast, went to Southern schools (or rural Northeastern schools, cough penitentiary cough) to play football and didn't like the culture there, the way they were treated there, etc, and convincing them to come to Cuse. Then getting the word out that if you wanted to play with your friends you grew up playing with/against, there was now a Northeastern program that would give you a chance to actually compete.
The thing is, I think taking that a step farther would be great for the brand of the program. Get some real rivalries going with some of these ACC schools, flat out say you want to stick it to these "tobacco plantation, er, I mean road, programs."
There are a lot of ways to frame it and phrase it, some might be offensive to the Southern schools and the conference, some might not. But our brand is worth more if some of these opponents' truly hate us, those matchups become more highly rated on TV and more valuable, and that's good for us.
I would leave Clemson out of it or well towards the respectful side of the spectrum because Dabo is cool with us, maybe leave Georgia Tech out of it, go hard on Florida State, Duke, UNC, NC State, and Miami.
Also the better we get, I think there's a dynamic where the less we're rivals with BC and Pitt, the worse for them and the better for us.
