6'3 235 lead us pretty much by himself to the bowl two years ago. Won the bowl game and was named MVP. Lester knows that this is his horse and he is going to create an O that fits him. We have a power team with plenty of weapons. I really think that Hunt is going to shine this year. Forget AJ and the others this is his team and this is his year. The guy is jacked and expect great things out of him. MVP

I hope you're right, but "plenty of weapons?"

Wishful thinking, IMO.

I know that based on last year it seems like a stretch but the fact is we had nothing upfront, an OC who was lost, children at QB, and a schedule that was beyond tough. The skill guys never had a chance. I believe that we do have weapons and that they are going to do well this year. Hunt is the key if he stays healthy we will be fine.

I love the optimism, but one large QB doesn't make us a power team. I look at our O Line and have doubts as to whether they can push the front seven of the teams in the ACC?

MVP of what?

As stated above, I love the optimism. But after what I saw last year, I have very low confidence in our skilled talent being anything than below average. I'll be skeptical until they prove it on the field. And I'd love to believe that Lester is a good enough coach to turn things around, but really--we don't know and WON'T know until the games begin. And OL is going to be a question mark as well--not a great situation for an offense that was already anemic.

Now, I certainly hope that Lester has the chops, and that our offense shows drastic improvement. It will need to for Shafer to be retained, IMO. But I don't accept at face value any predictions about the skilled talent being good enough, lot alone somehow better than that.

Got it.

I think Riley Dixon could be tough to beat on a team with no on projected to be close to be drafted/coveted by the next level.
Heck of a player but im sticking with my prediction. I have a feeling that Hunt is going to lead the team and have a heck of a year

I actually agree with KCSU, despite the fact that he threw 4INTs to 1 TD in his 4 and half games last year, he also ran for 6 TDs and passed over 200yrds in 3 of those games including the 294 against ND. His rating wasnt horrible, I mean there is no reason to believe he wont break out this year. might as well be positive about the possibility that Hunt very well could do some damage.

I will settle for decent with Hunt. One thing to be optimistic about is the players will hopefully understand what plays they are running. That apparently wasn't the case last year with McDonald's offense. If Hunt can throw 17-18 TDs and run for another 6-7 with limited Int's I will be very happy.

Hunts an athletic beast and a fiery competitor. He's grown as a decision maker. He's never going to be donovan mcnabb but he knows how to get it done in crunch time.

Fully expect him to do great things this year with McFarlane, Phillips, Ishmael, Custis, Broyld, Strickland etc.

I have a hard time getting TH's performances at the end of his sophomore year to line up with what we saw last year. Lots of high percentage passes that were so off the mark. Low discipline and hope to see more of that and humility as a senior. Just do your job. Hope it was a certain offense that we have abandoned that was the source of the passing problems.

I don't want to derail this thread, but are we sure he's 100% healthy? Not just physically, but when he drops back or takes off is he going to get the yips?

I'm always nervous about that when it comes to running QBs.

I never saw Hunt play in 2013. Didn't really see him much in 2014. From what I did see, the OL was not good, at all. I know injuries decimated the OL, and that obviously will throw a wrench in things. A good OL will turn a good backfield into a great one, and a mediocre one into a good one.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that, to an extent, Hunt's performance this year will be dependent on how well the OL gets between now and the beginning of the season.

I want to believe you... and I did believe you last year.

I was a Hunt hater 2 years ago until the last 3 or 4 games of the season where he put us on his back. I was a Hunt lover last year... basically until he punched a linebacker for tackling him.

I want to see it, I just dont.

It will be quite evident who have been living in the IPF when preseason rolls around. In my mind Hunt, AJ and at least 4 of their receivers will be we but won't see the fruits of their labors realized for a few more months. Could be more player than but that will be our offensive core this season.

As stated our oline has some big question marks but Hunt's agility in a 15 yard radius will make defenses reconsider how they attack. Hunt is more of a thrower than a pure passer but so was Nassib. If we have some wideouts prove they will catch anything in their area I think our qb will relax a bit and stop trying to make perfect passes. Confidence goes a long way in how our offense will do this year. Hunt has the right competitive mindset, and I feel he's very much smart enough to learn from his mistakes.

Sometimes a switch flips when people realize it's now or never for them. I'm cautiously optimistic that will be the case with Hunt but waiting for the evidence in August.

I think Lester is no dummy and he has experience, albeit on a lower level. He will probably not ask Hunt to do more than he can and he will rely more on backs to run the ball. He will not ask hunt to be a spread passer.

We will win as many games as the OL allows us to win. While, I don't think our talent level is up to where it will be in a few years or needs to be to compete for an ACC championship, I do believe we have enough talent to have a pretty good year IF the OL allows it to happen.

Wanted to second the point on Hunt's running threat giving defenses another thing they've got to deal with.
