Why am I having flashbacks to Devin Butler with Taj Harris’ attitude and play this year year.

The body language has been awful most of the year and there were quite a bit of missed opportunities yesterday and in previous games.

Anyone else see the comparison?

Interesting comparison but even with a disappointing year, Taj is 30 yards short of matching Devin's yardage for his entire career

How come Cam, Queeley, and the Johnson kids dont see more snaps? Especially Cam.
Kills me as I thought cam played good in the Harris hissy fit game. P.s. he blocks better too. Last year he had fire and I liked it and this year it’s like a different personality. I saw the one throw from Td to him going vertical and Harris went inside. They miss each other terribly. Sometimes so bad that it’s like Harris May do it on purpose. At least seams that way. I doubt it but ya never know

Cam needs to see the field. He brings a physicality that the other receivers dont. I would actually like to see Cam, Jackson and Harris on the field at the same time. Sit Riley. Have Jackson or Harris play the slot. Luke Benson might also make an excellent WR. I think with his size and speed he becomes a nightmare match up. I like Riley and appreciate his toughness but why he starts is beyond me.

Attitude may be the same but one could block but not catch and the other can catch but not do much else.

In some other games this weekend I saw downfield blocking from WRs that allowed RBs and QBs to gain 15-20 extra yards on some plays. I feel like I don't see that from ours.

I think Taj needs a major attitude adjustment. Too many times he made TD look like crap by berating him. Keep it in house away from cameras. He also needs to put weight on which he didn't last offseason. He needs to work harder.

Not really apples to apples.

Butler had hands uniquely suited for the role of a Guard.

Taj seems to be disinterested in honing his patterns beyond streaks - he also doesnt seem to fight for the ball on 50/50s (it is not required to be Ishmael-tier jump ball extraordinaire, but Taj just needs the ball dropped in the bread basket or else it isn't happening).

Also it seems to be the case where Devito tunnels his initial read (Jackson, 90% of the time), or (like on Saturday) there is only one receiver running a route on the play (again, Jackson), so some of Taj's frustration is understandable (his reaction to that frustration is not).

Mindset/attitude? Maybe. Hard to say. Ostensibly it looks like Taj is far more of a crybaby, but unless you are with people a lot more than we (as forum goers) are, you can't be certain.

I'm definitely on board with seeing more Jordan, though. The guy's potential is very intriguing.

My criticism of Harris besides his attitude is his lack of physicality on any contested balls. The Notre Dame game last year. The Clemson game this year on the third down play during the first drive where he alligator armed one and dropped it. He gets pushed around pretty good by opposing defensive backs and can't seem to adjust to any balls that are not perfectly thrown to him. With regard to his rifts with DeVito, when you live in a glass house, don't throw rocks. Here's to hoping the kid improves his attitude and figures it out. I too thought Cam Jordan looked very good in the NC State game. Go Orange!!!!!!

Butler blocked and set up opportunities for his teammates when he couldn’t execute himself.

Taj could hope to become more like Butler in this regard.

For anyone wondering, Devin Butler has 575 yards receiving on a playoff-bound, 9-1 Tiffin squad. He looks to be the second option in the passing game.

Why didn't I know that Butler ended up on my Alma Mater...or did I and I just forgot. lol

Looks like he had a 44 YD TD run Saturday in a win that resulted in a league Championship. Yep, that's right, 44 yards. You can take the player out of Syracuse, but you can't take Syracuse out of the player.

Edit: Add another "coincidence". He currently has 44 catches on the season!

I think someone mentioned that tiffin was their alma mater when we found out butler went there. I’d assume it was you.

I am surprised that Taj still gets the majority of the snaps. He has thrown multiple "hissy fits" this year and didn't get his playing time cut. I don't think Taj is good enough to act that way and keep playing. I think Dino should have sent him and the team a message.

All I know is that during an otherwise great day at Wallace Wade Stadium, the two negative things I blurted out involved Taj and Frederick.
