Was totally shocked by this and he was on campus in 2002. He was also on campus when the Pres and AD tried to fire Joe Pa for not winning and Joe Pa threw them out of his house. He had mostly poitives about JoePa and the kids he brought through the program.
He also had some interesting things about some of our guys. Loves Kevyn Scott. Really loves Derrell Smith. 2 quick tidbits on D.Smith. When asked about the guys Marrone booted, Smith was all for it, saying that they were bad guys.
Also, Smith was a good student but also a real stand up guy. He handed in a paper once and told the professor that he didn't do very good job so he shouldn't get more tan a "C'. When kids in his group in the class started getting on him, he said to them that they didn't do a good job and that shouldn't get a grade that they didn't deserve and that he was basically letting the professor know that he didn't expect favors as a FB player. (paraphrased).
The professor really likes the way Marrone is going, based upon his limited contacts with players in the program.
