Ohio State still got dominated by a terribly average Virginia Tech team, and struggled to beat lowly Indiana and Michigan, all at home. TCU dominated pretty much all of their competition, including wins over #4 Oklahoma, #20 West Virginia, and blowing out #7 Kansas State and #15 Oklahoma State.

Personally, I think Ohio State and TCU were both better than Florida State anyways, but I think TCU was comfortably the #3 team in the country.

Everyone points to that va tech game, and while it was a bad loss, that game was played in early september.

All of those teams that Tcu beat turned out to be mediocre- bad teams. OU and Osu both fell apart, WV is an ok team. Other than beating Ksu at home, what did Tcu do that was so special? Yes Osu struggled at times against Indiana, but they won the game by 3 tds, Tcu barely got by an awful Kansas team.

After that FG late in a 0-42 game if I were at the game and in the TCU section I would have chanted S-E-C as that douche chant is annoying.

TCU looked great today, history has shown Patterson does a good job getting them to play with a CHIP against these bowl teams that are deemed to be better but are coming off tough ends to the season

But
OK finished 4-5 and they won by 3
Wv finished 1-4 and they won by 1
kansas 3-9 had them beat they won by 4
KSu might finish 2-3
ole Miss finished 2-4
OK St finished 1-5 maybe 1-6

they let baylor beat them in a game they were clearly better. the rest of the season has shown they didnt play much. they take care of business they would have gotten in..

So do you grade an opponents by how they were at the end of the season or how they were, (or were thought to be) at the time you played them?Sometimes teams get better. Sometimes teams get worse but were good at the time. In my "Versus Ranked Teams system, TCU wound up with 135 points and Oho State 110. This game would get TCU another 56 points. Ohio State gets an automatic 25 points for playing #1 Alabama. So presently it's 191-135, in favor of TCU

Ohio State did not beat Indiana by three touchdowns. And you can't just brush off the VA Tech game because of the fact that it was early. What's the point in playing early games at all if they don't count for anything? The fact of the matter is Ohio State got dominated on their own home field by a bad team, and then barely beat two more bad teams at home.

Why is September significant? That was a home game against a team that ended up .500 and Ohio State was dominated from start to finish. It was the worst loss by anyone in the top 10.

I guess not. #11 standing there with nothing to do.

He still can be the holder. Could've come here and played immediately.

They lost to Baylor. TCU didn't get screwed, Baylor did as they own the tie-breaker for Big XII champs.

Yea, they lost to Baylor. By 3 points AT Baylor. By far the "best" loss of the 3.

That and Ohio St had a better resume.

If you don't count VaTech.

TCU plays fast. Miss is coaching like they will slow down. OC has been awful at play calling, the QB is avg most of the time, the D has actually made some plays and the Refs seem to be clueless.. for all the taunting calls this year I can believe they are letting TCU get away with some of this stuff. Miss has not been good since about week 6..
Agree about Wallace. That team reminds me of SU basketball last year

Im confused how a team is dominated in a game thats 21-21 in the 4th and the stats are dead even? OSU threw an INT at the 40 in the last min on a drive to tie the game.

The resume of winner.

It's amazing this idea, over the last 7+ years, perpetuated by some of the media and fans who sparingly watch CFB... that Boise St., TCU, and recently Baylor are just decent teams and they only consistently beat top 10 - 25 teams because "they get up for the game" or "they have a chip on their shoulder".

TCU crushed the #1 defense in the country today and out of 10 games played, they would done it at least 7 times. Ohio State is lucky they have their name and Meyer as their coach because TCU showed today they are far more deserving of playing in the playoffs. 42 points on an SEC team that has the #1 defense!!

Why don't we compare wins instead, Ohio St Dominated Msu in East Lansing, and embarrassed Wisc on a neutral field, and beat a pretty good Min team in Min. Tcu's best wins came at home.

Funny you mention Ohio States 31-24 win over Minnesota since TCU beat that same Minnesota team 30-7. Has K State not the bed vs Auburn and OU not themselves vs Okie St In the last week the pollsters wouldn't have been able to drop Minne in the top 25 and seemingly ignore that TCU beat them quite a bit more soundly.

End game K State lost to 3 solid teams and MSU lost the only games they played vs teams with a pulse. It is rehashing old arguements but after the Ole Miss game there is no arguing that TCU should be playing Bama. That said, TCu playing Bama wouldn't help the SEC bias or the Ohio State name and their coaches hype.

Bama vs Ohio State is a game both teams wanted for different reasons. Big 10 to protect their brand by not being left out, and Bama protecting their and the SEC name by not potentially losing in the first round of the playoffs.
