Even before his junior football season started, Laisure already had a Division I FBS offer from UNLV. Miami (Ohio), Western Michigan and Austin Peay have all since offered the Sullivan East junior.
Then came Wednesday, when Laisure announced on social media he’d been offered a spot on Colorado’s football roster as a preferred walk-on. Coach Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes are currently in the market for a tight ends coach, so there remains the possibility of a scholarship offer down the road.
“God has blessed me abundantly in a lot more things than just sports, but I’m definitely blessed to have the offers I have,” Laisure said. “If your effort matches your goals, you can achieve whatever you want.”
At tight end, Laisure caught 64 passes for 756 yards and 10 touchdowns his junior season, helping the Patriots return to the TSSAA playoffs.
