3 years ago. We should know by now that after a few years it really doesn’t mean anything. He won’t be near that as a transferA top 100 HS player to boot. Ohhh that Anomander

Need to have Tremble stay at LB or EdgeTEs we need...
Smith would seem to be a RS soph--- 6'4" 250 lbs.
We have David Clement...didn't seem to play much in 2025 season.
RS Jr or senior...6'6" 260 lbs.
Finally, Tremble goes both ways...I'd kind of like to see him play LB if the other 2 workout.
There’s room enough for both. Meeks and GrantIt’s totally fine if you don’t agreement with me. It’s a discussion board. I never take anything personally and come here for the common love of orange and conversation. It’s all good, but i did specifically say that my preference is based on the player, not where they play. I actually said i’d prefer proven players from lower levels rather than back ups from SEC/B10. I just didn’t think the lower level guys who had announced visits were that good . Still, high upside. Let’s hope this one turns out.
Not a GIF but here’s the tweet.
3 to play 3 but only can count on 1 with Orange.Everybody is on a one year deal now.
Played 4 games in 2025.
3 to play 3.
Can he play QB in a pinch so as not to burn a freshman's redshirt? [I kid, I kid]Nice replacement for Dan V.
Love Dan but this kid has more upside.![]()
I really like this pickup. TE wasn’t the first position thought of as a need but it really was a pretty big need. SC doesn’t pass to the TE much. I mean this dude started a bunch of games for an SEC team…as a freshman. That is not an easy thing to do. Slowed to start the year as a Soph due to a shoulder injury in the spring and then decided to shut it down due to how he was being used after that. Appears to have great upside. I think he may give us what Villari gave us this year and Smith has 3 more years. Angeli has to be very happy with this pickup. He is going to like this guy. And I have a good feeling that he will block better than Villari and really help the run game to boot. Love picking up a talented every down type of TE.
That's not really true though, is it? Everyone gets a 4 yr deal or whatever but is not guaranteed to be playing football.3 to play 3 but only can count on 1 with Orange.Everybody is on a one year deal now.
When they sign they are not obligated to stay more than a year is my point. That's not really true though, is it? Everyone gets a 4 yr deal or whatever but is not guaranteed to be playing football.
I find it odd that we put so much value on having multiple years left. Every good player is always reevaluating their options after every season.Hey guys, this is a massive pickup. 3 to play 3.
Agreed. I'm just saying that in 2026 I think we can get from Smith as a redshirt Sophomore what we would have gotten from Villari in 2025. But future years his upside could/should be even greater.Love Dan but this kid has more upside.
Years left still matters to some degree, but certainly much less than what it used to mean.I find it odd that we put so much value on having multiple years left. Every good player is always reevaluating their options after every season.
I'll add that It may be even more valuable to add a player who has used their redshirt year already. That way sitting after 4 games participation to preserve a redshirt is not an option and you can guarantee their services for the entire season, assuming no injury.Years left still matters to some degree, but certainly much less than what it used to mean.
