A name to keep an eye on.
6’6” 195 lb freshman from Liverpool HS. The new staff has been to the school twice and have expressed interest. Some close to the Liverpool program for many years believe Oakley is farther ahead of Gedney at the same age. Last Summer he attended a youth camp at Clemson, his dream school, and held his own. If he develops and is offered, he’ll head down South. SU is his clear #2 tho.

Wow. Just put him as the #2 recruit in NYS for the class of 2027. That puts him in front of a couple of players who already have P5 offers.

Has great hands and catching technique and his athleticism jumps off the screen. Think he will be a national recruit.

His dream school now could be Clemson because of where they were.
If Fran gets this turned around in 3 years things could change.

His father is a Clemson grad and rabid tiger fan.
If that's the case then like Holohan who went to Notre Dame, don' t waste the time. Recruit someone else at the position.

Remember what Fran Brown said-bagger-"we're going up against anyone". Looks like that's the case here!

NOT Offered.

Probably not gonna offer.

Kid's father is a Clemson alum.

If Fran & Co. are who they say they are, we won't lose a kid this good less than 10 miles from campus.

I will say that a lot can change between now and 2026-27...
Even Fran said, some players just want to leave home for college.

That's why you don't waste your time and resources on someone who isn't coming here.
You are forgetting about the potential portal opportunity down the road if he does go down south.

Has Clemson offered? If not, you recruit him until they do.

This is a response to Tomcat’s post in the Spring Visitors thread:

That was Oakley on the far right in the Liverpool pic. He was measured at 6’6” 180lbs. Not sure if this can be shared, so please edit out if need be, but apparently each recruit is given a number rating. The lower the number, the higher priority the recruit. I don’t have any information re: metrics to establish those numbers, but I do know that Oakley did qualify for a scholarship. However, they really want to see him dedicate himself to adding significant weight before they decide to pull the trigger with that offer.
The take home message for him was that they’re going to keep a close eye on his progress.
One thing that stood out to me was was that despite his father’s allegiance to Clemson, he said that he would be fully on board if Oakley decided to go to Syracuse. He said the energy up there was palpable and you could tell a change in this program was coming.

On a sidenote, Oakley plans to camp at Syracuse, Clemson and Notre Dame this summer
