Since 2003 there have been 6 teams that have lost their first game of their respective conference tourneys and then gone on to make the Final Four:

2010 Mich St
2009 Uconn (6OT game)
2007 UCLA
2005 Mich St
2003 Marq
2003 Texas

Unfortunately none went on to win the championship. At least the FF is a proven achievement.
