Gottfried has done a horrible coaching job this year. NC State is as talented as any team in the country, certainly as talented as any team in the ACC, and they have underachieved and underperformed all year.
Gottfried honestly should never be a head coach. The dude is a poor man's John Calipari he can recruit like nobody except Calapari, and he can't coach himself out of a paperbag. Only difference is Calapari gets all the 1 and done kids. NC State has top 10 talent, and this team is about to flame out round 1. If Gottfried could ever coach the talent he had NC State should be no worse than a 4 seed this year. Temple is riding Wyatt and he is the perfect college player. Indiana will roll Temple, but NC State has the talent to beat Indiana, but won't get the chance.

indiana is a frontrunner- they have wilted when punched in the mouth.. that seems to be the case with many teams... our big backcourt could either be a major problem for hulls and ferrell or they could be too quick and be able to get into the zone and shred it..

Agreed. Temple has to outwork them badly and Wyatt has to have a monster game.
I don't like their guard play vs ours. Watford could be a problem as the stretch 4, and Zeller could cause issues, but if we can disrupt their guards and turn them over we'll have a good shot (assuming we beat Cal). I'd go at Zeller, get him in foul trouble early and on the bench.

Wasn't NC State's year. You could tell a couple months ago something didn't smell right. I think its funny how people think Gottfrieds an awful coach b/c a jilted player called him out on it. I don't think he's great but he's not that bad.

NC St wishes they were as "unsuccessful" as Pitt.
Since Jim Valvano retired in 1990 NC St has 3 less wins in the NCAAT than Jamie Dixon.

Don't know why people think NC St is any good. Even when they bring in highly regarded talent they still suck (see Julius Hodge, JJ Hickson). They made a nice little cinderella run to the Sweet 16 last year as an 11 seed, prior to that they hadn't made the tournament in 6 years.
