I see the stories of being only half way to the speed they want to run.. where do people see cutting play time in half? there are only so many places to speed it up.. play calling, getting to the line, substitution speed?

did it feel like there were 10 secs a play being wasted?

Babers told us Friday night that the spring game will be dreadfully slow. He said he hates scrimmage days because the refs are there and it makes the practices go slower.

After the first two drives - it slowed a bit. 5-8 seconds maybe?

The first two series the offense was running up the the line and the ball was snapped as soon as the players were set. after the first two series it was still faster then anything we have ever had. But it felt a lot slower.

if i remember right, we were about 10 seconds slower per play than tulsa last year

i think you're being a little too literal here. there's a goal for how fast they want to play, and they've only made it halfway to that goal. not that they can go twice as fast

There seemed to be a couple different tempos. Sometimes the QB called out to the linemen, then the back would call out to the linemen reset then the snap. Then there were times, when the QB would make a call, then the snap.

I watched the Iggles under Chip do this for 3 years. When it worked, it worked great. When it didn't work.. you're like.. we're punting already?
Also - get ready for the other teams to have hurt players left and and right, trying to catch a breather.

You might find yourself in the uncomfortable position of booing 'hurt' players when you don't think they are actually hurt. Well - it was never a problem in Philly - but I'm guessing it will spark some ethical debate in upstate NY.

I'm all in on this offense btw..! Excited.

Like some Clemson fans did?!

Rule change: if the game is stopped for you to leave the field, you cannot re-enter the game until possession has changed.
Player safety.

Oh, sure, bring up facts and reality in a thread to temper our expectations.

On a serious note, if this is slow, we can forget about posting during games. Nobody will want to miss a single play.
I kind of agree but I want to see this happening in a "real" game" Lets face it Colgate isn't more than higher level scrimmage. There was a reason that Colgate no longer wanted to play us anymore. The Orange was way out of their/Colgate's league in talent and coaching If the game is televisedI'll watch it of corset lets not think its going to be competitive. If its then we need a new coach

no we are talking about rules they had in place 75 years ago. leave the game you cant come back in.

That is one of the best proposed rule changes I have heard! Way better than if your helmet falls off you sit out a play.

That's a rule that's still in place in real football. ;)
